Why do you say us Atheists are going to Hell in a hand basket?
That is so childish, why can't you just accept people for who they are and leave us all alone.
Just because you believe in your God, it does not mean it gives you the right to force your beliefs down our throats.
You say God gave us all free will, why don't you let people make their own minds up about it and leave us alone?
This is not meant to be disrespectful.

Yeah, I mean a hand basket can't hold all of you anyways.
So, maybe we are childish, can't you just accept us for who we are and leave us alone?
Whether you really believe it or not, you can shut most of them up by telling them you do. Lying, what a concept, a lot of Christians even use it.
You still have free will no matter what the Christians tell you. If you let what others say change your mind maybe you are just not expressing your free will all that good.
This is not to be disrespectful either, just to show that free will should be able to work both ways.

Last I saw no one put a sword to your head and said believe or die. Until that happens then you can say we are forcing this upon you. Don't shoot the messengers. The reason Christians seem insistent that you will go to Hell if you don't believe is because we don't want to see you or anyone go there. If you see that someone is about to go over a cliff that they can't see, you would warn them. You wouldn't want to see that person pay the price for what's before them. God would want for all of us to be saved but He will not force us to be with Him. It is a choice. If you choose to reject Him, He will honor your decision when you die. You will live an eternity without God. However with God being the source of love and life an eternity without that is frightnening if you consider the alternative. Choose wisely.

ok in response to Jesus is Lord, what information do you have that leads you to believe atheists have no concept of right or wrong??? What a generalization, I could easily say that Christians have no concept of right or wrong but it would not apply to every christian, maybe a small amount just like anyone else. and i am not ignorant enough to believe that any description will describe all the people of one group or another except the description: human.
Just because someone chooses not to believe in your god DOES NOT mean they don't have a concept of right and wrong. Hitler was a Christian and self proclaimed soldier of christ but you don't see me lumping you into the same category as him...obviously!

I don't say that! I don't believe in a place called hell of fiery torment, Hell was taken from the word Sheol and Hades which mean the common grave of mankind, it's a man made tradition to think it's a place for torment, in some bibles it even states that Jesus was in hell for 3 days, the grave.

I'm sorry if that's what people are telling you instead of giving you the answer.
We do want to accept people the way they are.
But say, if you were in a house that was burning down, wouldn't you want someone to show you the way out?
Would you just want them to accept the fact that that's where you were and probably wanted to be?
I'd feel about obligated to rush in and drag you out even if you were in a case of hysterics and thought you wanted to stay there. Sure it's would be your free will, but...
You understand what I mean?
I think most Christians just want to help. It's not that they mean to be rude.

Well I'm a Christian and that being said I am not supposed to judge anyone. That's not my job. My job is to love my fellow man and treat all as I would like to be treated.
I know people who are Atheists who follow that rule much more faithfully than some Christians seem to. Sad but true.

They think they're called to convert everyone ... presumably because it will get them a better seat in heaven or something.

The really obnoxious ones, though, are just using that as an outlet for their intolerance. They can't stand the idea that anyone might think differently from them. And so when they can't get through, they just condemn you to hell. And then pray for you and say they love you.

Of course, Jesus never told his followers to be pests and badger people. He told them to preach the Gospel, and if people didn't accept you, then you should leave, shake the dust from your feet, and move on. None of them remembers that part.

The difference is - we know the truth.

It is not a belief, it is a fact.

Imagine if you had the secret to immortality, to eternal life - the key to peace and joy and happiness....

....would you keep it to yourself or share it with others?

Would you rejoice with those who accepted the truth, and grieved for those who rejected it...in pride and ignorance?

I don't mean to be disrespectful either - but until you guys understand this is not a simple "belief" to be held personal and private; but a command from our SAVIOR that we share the good news - well, I'm afraid you are always going to be offended by this forum here.

We present the truth. To some people - it feels like judgment.

Let's face it, nothing has changed over the centuries. The only thing that has is that the Church can not execute you for your sole beliefs. Am I harping on Christians, no. I believe in God but I don't believe in Religion itself. I believe that you have the right to believe in whatever you want.
