There are lot of quality every one should have to be successful in any profession. Some are listed here are common for all and some are for engineers.
1) Punctuality
2) Dependability
3) Reliability
4) Honesty
5) Thorough knowledge of area of practice
6) Ability and willingness of updating knowledge with new research and technology.
The following are the qualities that engineers should have.
7) Hard working (not physically but mentally)
8) Good math skills
9) Must be a good team player (as engineers always work in team, it is almost impossible to finish a project by only one engineer)
10) Good coordination skills (so you can coordinate the progress of work within team)
11) Must be bold enough to use new technology
12) Must be bold enough to make quick decisions in situation where quick decision is expected
13) Must be bold enough to take responsibility for any mistakes.
14) Good writing skills (not like authors, but good enough for engineering field)

An Engineer's best qualities are usually his scintillating personality and good looks, sometimes pushed to second place by his citizenship, honesty, kindness to our fellow man, and our intelligence. All of the above combined with a love of nature and the great outdoors make for a well rounded and successful engineer. A very good Education falls in there somewhere also, but I'm not sure exactly where.

2.able 2 have a long life learning
3.superb in communication skills
4.able 2 identified problem and solve by applying the mathematical and engineering fundamental..
5.master in computer skill(autocad,staad pro,primavera,essteem and more..
6.followed the right etiquette and professionalism as engineer!
