This just proves how limited a mythical view can be, it's simple, no physical feature on the earth is concentrated enough to give birth to trillions and trillons of tons of new water from nowhere,, such huge increase in water would have thrown earth away from it's axis and nobody would be here today to write these fairy tales,,,, my loyalties go with science and the logic it makes,, no freaky stories can frighten me anymore.

There is an interesting video link on the YouTube. You should look at if after reading this. It is actually the creation of an Evolutionist. He is using data from science to support his theory.
My first point is that the Bible says that before God commenced his preparatory work of the earth, it was standing in water and no solid land was visible.
The second point is that for the flood, the Bible tells us that the waters came from subterranean sources (recently an subterranean ocean has been discovered under Asia, news!) -- and from a heavenly source. It has been speculated that the Van Allen belt might have been able to hold this water.
Next, you need to realize that the mountains existing today, did not in the Biblical model. They were all low mountains.

First there is not enough hydrogen present on the earth to create the extra water needed. Second there is no indication in any record that a flood occurred i.e. civilizations didn't disappear at the same time around the globe, cultures show continuous growth, no indication of a recent mass extermination etc.
Third genetics don't support it.
Fourth the bible nor any other record indicates a change in water or in light that would be necessary for the rainbow, i.e. rainbows not existing before would mean that either light did not refract or that water did not refract it, hence water would not appear blue or the sky would not appear blue.
Edit:
Christians should not try to use science as they are likely to spout reasonable sounding assertions that have no evidence and that can not be backed up. Yes if all of the water present on earth was in liquid form and was on the surface, there would be a flood, but it would not begin to cover most mountains or even the majority of the land masses.

6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Genesis 1
7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were ABOVE the firmament: and it was so.
8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day
There was a water canopy which would have allowed for there to be no extremities in temperature globally as all the earth was at first a panachea...all the land gathered into one place and fed by springs and dew from a polor ice cap beneath.
Genesis 7:11
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Genesis 8:2
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
That water now travels as weather, cloud vapor and has frozen at each end of the globe into polar ice caps. Love in Christ, ~J~

The Bible says In Genesis 7 starting with verse 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. 14 They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings. 15 Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark. 16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
17 For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. 18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet. [b] , [c] 21 Every living thing that moved on the earth perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. 23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
24 The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
Chapter 8 starts with this: 1 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
If you notice in Chapter 7 Verse 11 it states that the SPRINGS OF THE GREAT DEEP BURST FORTH and the flood gates of the heavens were opened. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights.
The MAJORITY of the water that covered the Earth came from beneath the land. In Gensis Chapter 1 God said: Verse 6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
As you can see there were two sets of water. One set on (in) the earth and one set above the earth. Water came from below the earths surface and from the other set surrounding the earth.
Pslam 24 says: 1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.
The Land was established UPON the waters. The waters were underground. There were some that were exposed called "seas" but not NEARLY as much of the earth was covered with water as there is now.

Not only did the water canopy circling the Earth break loose but all the underground waters came rushing to the surface as well as per Genesis 7:11.

I could asume there was another global heating and the icebergs melted, but I don't know. Maybe there was a flood only in some region of the earth where the people who wrote this used to live. I think most religious stories are based on half truth. They didn't have too much comunication between different parts of the earth so they could asume that what happens there, happens everywhere

First of all,it rained for forty days and forty nights.
Second, the earth has enough water on it NOW to flood it.the earth is just over 70% water.Local floods take place with less time than 40 days and 40 nights. The mountains arose to have the water rush off,etc...
READ your bible before you type such nonsense

Science recently flooded the earth with researchers, and they found the only thing common to man ww was a legend of the flood. Science also proved that there was no ww flood, no evidence of such.
So then, perhaps it's "allegory", as told us in the Bible.
Perhaps it's "written aforetime" and "for our learning".
Allegoric mystery is not to be taken literal nor historical.
However the allegoric mystery of God does have a moral.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

You need to do your own research and read your own Bible. God created everything that is in existence except evil and badness.
Now where do you think the extra water came from? I'm just guessing but you must be a very young teen ager. Now it's time to grow up and do your own personal Bible study. If you run into snags, call up and elder and ask for a person home Bible study.
I just can't get over your question. I mean common sense tells one "God caused the rain - the extra water".
Hmmmm
