Any additional movement will burn a few extra calories, and if you involve weights that burns more AND firms/builds the muscle so it in turn burns more calories at rest.

Why not do some arm or leg work while you're sitting watching TV? Might as well make that time productive and burn some extra calories if you can...bravo you!

However, your "tv workouts" don't take the place of more structured and strenuous workouts such as walking, jogging, aerobics, strength training, etc. If you desire to lose weight, going for 60 mins of exercise a day, at least 5 days a week is beneficial (you can break it up into two 30 min workouts if needed).

in case you're in seek of for cardio, attempt working/ strolling, taking a brisk stroll around your community, cycling with the relatives (or on your own) and only heading all the way down to the community park to kick a ball around. issues you're able to do at abode incorporate leaping rope, leaping on a trampoline, hula hooping (this one is large because of the fact that's incredibly ordinary, and besides the reality that it would not look like its doing lots, that's incredibly a large way of burning energy. I hula hoop whilst watching television, and the reveal keeps me occupied so i do now not observe i'm work out. attempt understanding with an iPod for motivation and a distraction. good good fortune =]

Not if you're sitting on the couch you won't. Try doing it while kneeling down on something soft to protect your knees. Keep your arms (with or without weights) overhead and move your bum over to one side onto the floor. Then, without using your hands, raise yourself up back to kneeling and swing your hips over to the other side. You are alternately sitting on the floor to either side of your kneeling legs. It's a killer for just about all your muscles - especially your abs. Don't drop your weights on your head!
