Blackhawk Down wasn't too bad.

Bill T. ??? How not to run a war ??? Blackhawk Down was about a specific mission. That movie shows alot of what not to do's I will agree... ie... The Rangers were used to quick missions therefor they didn't take their NVG's, they didn't take their personal body armour with them becuase "there was no need". BUT !!! Small unit leaders led the way. Shughart and Gordon made the ultimate sacrifice in order to assist their comrades. Without the leaders providing purpose, direction and motivation to their soldiers the casualty figures for the US could have been greater than what it was.

Yes the US made some sever mistakes, Not notify the UN forces that they were conducting a raid, not having another heavier force on stand by just in case. Also alot of that was Ranger Hoooah BS but still up til then the Somalis gave no appearance of wanting to fight the Rangers. General Garrison's career was cut short through events that were out of his control by the White House. All in all though The US Soldiers will to dominate the enemy persevered and the US won that battle.

Check out "The End Of War" with kiefer Sutherland. It wasn't a box office success but really shows life in a Japanese POW camp. Very powerful movie.

Band of Brothers is even better.

Saving Private Ryan is a good one, too.

I think my favorite is and old one with John Wayne called, The Green Berets.
