atheism is the specific belief there is no god and is the polar opposite of theism. however, you must be introduced to the concept of gods in order to choose to believe or to not believe.

my question is: what are you before you have been introduced to the concept of gods?

you can't be an atheist because you know nothing of gods in the first to say you don't believe in them. what is this religious stance called?

Atheism is a generally misused observe, yet like many it rather is severely familiar to symbolize a vast selection of non-ideals in theism. while you're an atheist that would not settle for the consequence of evolution, you're the two ignorant or loopy for the reason which you lose the excuse of being non secular. It took me like 10 minutes to study adequate to appreciate the opportunities and how THAT concept looks to coincide with quite a few others in technology, mutually with genetics, astronomy, cosmology, biology, thermodynamics, geology, and and so on. and so on. those "united" theories circulate an extremely long the style to discredit faith because it rather is instructed and study, a minimum of interior the recommendations of an rational, knowledgeable individual. Atheism is the shortcoming to settle for a doctrine that no longer in basic terms lacks information of it rather is validity yet conflicts with the validity of reproducible measurements made interior the organic international. All you're able to do to alter into an Atheist is think of somewhat.

No I would argue that atheism is the term for both cases. There are likely to be many things that I don't know about that when I do hear about them I still won't believe in.

The term atheist does not imply active rejection of gods nor does it imply that one must first have knowledge of gods.

I don't think anyone who was raised anywhere but in a cave by wolves hasn't been introduced to the concept of god in some fashion--even if that god is the sun or a tree or a rock or whatever.

nothing, just not religious (obieusly) and not informed about the fact that people asume there is a god

a friend of mine actually met a guy who had no idea what or who god is. I don't understand how this happened (we live in a society where god is mentioned, even only to say "oh my god")

atheism again

Strong atheism: the active disbelief in any god
Weak atheism: the passive belief in no gods

It's weak atheism in the sense that you believe no gods, either because you don't know of them or you don't care about them

Lost

Man is still without excuse when it comes to sin. God will make Himself known at one time or another in everyone's life. It's up to that person to humbly accept Him as real.
