Recently I have purchased Cannon PowerShot S3 IS. I want to learn digital photography for it. So any help out there?

Its Canon with one "n".

Find a quiet place, get comfortable, and READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual that came with the camera. Take it one feature or setting at a time, practice using it and when you're comfortable with it go to the next setting or feature.

Take a photography class at your local high school or community college. If there aren't any, check the New York Institute of Photography (nyip.com). They offer correspondence courses and have been in business since 1910.

You probably will cant a Powershot G series, gives you the full manual controls (including manual focus) when you want, and remains very compact, unfortunately a Powershot G10 are rather expensive, and the G9 isn't much less either. An alternative to get is a camera I've only recently discovered existed. The Canon Powershot Pro1, it is the only Canon compact that has an L-series lens which does help a little, an 8megapixel prosumer compact, with outstanding macro and a 28-200mm wide-tele zoom lens. It was released in 2001 and is only available used, but retails at around the £180 mark which places it in a very affordable position.
