I am currently starting the 3rd year of my photography degree and I have to do a final major project which I will be focusing on all year. I
have to think of a project which i can focus on all year and develop. I was thinking of looking at opposites like:
black / white
tall / small
Boy / girl
old / young..... etc
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or how they would see these opposites in a photograph and how they would go about it?
or would you choose a diffent subject? if so what?
Thankyou

The upper-class side vs the lower-class.

Night day.
Highways at night time.

a person dressed up crazily with a mask and boa in a room full of bored looking people. (the crazy person should be in color and the rest be in b&w) online there is a picture with a sign that says "surface may be icy" on a field of grass so maybe if you have a sign that says "keep off grass" that's floating in a pool or something a bunch or bouquet of flowers with a spoon full of peanut butter popping out off to the side of the bouquet some people to be pretend fighting and in the background have a poster that has peace stuff on it or all around sorry if some were lame but i hope this helps a lot!! seems like a fun project hope you get a good grade! :)

I like the idea of opposites, it can highlight the range that nature has to offer. For a slight tilt on the subject, how about new and old, this can include modern and old architecture, vehicle designs, people etc, which can show how society has changed in the last century.

One thing that would be cool is to find a big, old, tree in your area and go back every few weeks and take a picture of the tree, just to see how it changes through the year.

not a good project for an end of semester thing but for a side proj.....it would be fun

I would take pictures of every day life but in a very different view point and a life that is very different from one another. Try to get of a busy person in black and white who's old and pretty tall in a closed space and another person in color who's bored, young, and small... a child.
I think it's also good to take pictures of a few different people and see their similarities rather than differences.

What about a seaside resort. Busy in summer, quiet in winter. Calm seas, but rough in the gales. Sun/rain.etc.

Or, try a wild landscape, or forest region in the different seasons. Forest will give you the gold/reds of autumn and the green of summer etc.

Good luck

photos of litter on beaches showing how we spoil the environment, and things that could human but arent for instance a branch that looks like an arm.
also humans against backgrounds such as forests.
good luck with your project

Do you need to have those things in the same picture?

I did a project on abandonment, more specifically, abandoned buildings and it was a lotta fun, teacher loved it to.
