A lot of the questions on here seem to be from either atheists bashing religious people, wanting to know why they believe in god and telling them how wrong and stupid and ignorant they are. Or they are from religious people wanting to know why atheists do not believe in god and how wrong, stupid, ignorant they are.

My question is to both groups, WHY DO YOU CARE? Why do you feel the need to come on here and question someone else's beliefs and preach to other people. If you are so secure in your own beliefs why do you need to do this?

thanks

Why are atheists not happy just not to believe. Why do they need to take the piss out of believers.

To 'Im an Atheist'. You are a perfect example of what I am talking about. Why call yourself that, and why have that picture. So what if you are. What do you want a medal!

If one way were so obvious and correct, then everyone would follow it. The fact is that we have a choice in what we believe, and we cannot define "truth" for another person even if we think that we have found it for ourselves. Until they come to their own conclusions, it won't convince them.

So, yes, it does seem like a pointless exercise--asking and answering legit questions I can understand, but not the bashing.

I personally am pretty agnostic right now, so I find all viewpoints interesting and valid--when they aren't buried under hateful nonsense.

Check out the following web site for a few of the reasons why I have a strong repulsion to religion. It is a fear based irrational way of life that has been around too long and it is time we all culturally evolve into our potential without allowing these crazy superstitions to keep holding us back.

Did you check out the above site? Let's turn your question around to reflect a valid point. Why are theists not happy just to believe? Why do they need to take the piss out of Atheists? If theists are so secure in their beliefs, why do you need to do this?

Remember that the people who like to come here and fire questions at each other are just a tiny proportion of all the atheists and believers out there. Most probably don't care! Their belief, or lack of it, is not something they have much interest in debating. I think we're just a minority who enjoy the cut and thrust of discussion :-)

I've been here almost a year. I see many more believers preach to the point of insanity to non believers, more than I see non believers bashing believers. Also this is a place for questions I believe.

I'm here for the same reason I'm on "politics","military","Biology",
"Physics",and "astronomy"I have an interest in the subject..If someone needs to be validated,they need to go to a "Christian","Muslim" or "atheist"only group.In politics and religion,one should expect sharp disagreements.Atheists want the Christians here,Christians(regardless of their empty words)want the atheists here.That's why they post so many questions TO atheists.Its entertainment

It's part of human nature , like the old saying "curiosity killed a cat information brought it back"Some may be looking to degrade or even try to make foolish , others looking for info.Debate is also good for info, but hopefully no arguments . The best reason for a Christian , would be to spread the word for an atheist , to try to cancel it . .

Atheists question everything once... including each other given half a chance.... but only once.
Christians question nothing: they just preach.
Muslims question things, but the answer always ends up being Allah.

I just remain skeptical of the lot.

I care because I have a vested interest in there being as few stupid and ignorant people on the planet as possible -- I have to live here too, you know!

Indeed, Them vs Them is rather Hatfields vs McCoys;
Much like the two dimension flat world thinkers of old,
who know not world has always been round: globe-all.
From my view, above it, Law vs Law is Loser vs Loser.

It's so bwd <--BC, to err and then demand forgiveness.
Not guilty by reason of insanity is pretty common in law.
Someone tell them forgive know nots is before the cross.
After the cross it's destroy them all, as noted in Luke 17.
Not to mention the "no escape" of 1Thessalonians 5:3;
Or "no effect" of Galatians 5:4, written unto the churches.

If any man be ignorant, let him(not you) be ignorant.

Let the host of them vs them have "their end".
"From such (unholy & highminded) turn away".
There's no them vs them at all in "us-ward".
There's no division at all in unity of the Spirit.

Let "us" go on unto perfection...

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen .

It's called "debate," it's OK, it's healthy. Chill out!

It's also, by the way, what you're sort of doing, so have a glance in the ole mirror sometime
