why is it that the religious people are born with a sense that all they think is the ultimate truth and everyone else is an idiot, so they can curse anyone they like/declare anyone going to hell who does not agree with them,, what makes them so damn proud, do they think only they can think the best ?

Everyone does wrong, but at least non religious people are not hypocryites, and everyone does goods, but at least non religious people don't do it to gain heaven or because some god frightened them, so what makes religious ones think they are better !!

Your post is more of an opinion than a question.

Well, I understand why you feel this way. I must say, though, that not all religious people are like that (just like all other generalizations do not include every person) and that's rude. I don't think I'm the best at anything. I'm very good at some things, but truly religious people are not out to make others feel bad or stupid. As humans, it happens sometimes, but that is not the goal, and we try to apologize and make it right.

Non-religious persons are not hypocrites? I beg you to offer an example!

Not all "religious" people are like that--but it is human to prop up your own self-esteem by putting someone else down--whether verbally or just in your mind. That's why racism & classism exist as well. If everyone intermarried until we were all the exact same shade, people would just pick something else to judge by. If we were all the same religion, those who followed it in different ways would think that only their way was correct.

Haven't you ever looked at an overweight person and thought, "Man, what a tub of lard!" or seen someone's car and called it a piece of junk? Well, that's that same human impulse to say, "Hey, I'm better than that person!" We can all be small and petty at times.

I think you mean religious xtians.
I'm religious but certainly don't think my religion is the 'right' one for everyone, nor do I think there is any need for anyone to convert to it unless that is where their soul leads them.

But I DO have lots of bright ideas ;-)
Where shall I start?

They're all hipocrits!, judge not lest ye be judged, "truth is the knowledge of all things as they were, as the are, and as they will become" so if theres somebody out there that thinks they have the ultimate truth then their full of bullsh$%

We should start by realizing that Christ is the truth and by believing in Him we accept the truth, having said this however believing and doing are two different things, Christ said`By their fruit shall you know them`
The reality too is that Christians can also do wrong and by this fact alone should be humbled to understand that all humanity is flawed and sinful, and far short of the perfection Christ calls us too.

one word: indoctrination

They were taught to think this way and some of them are not intelligent enough to realise at least a part of they way they think could be wrong

But not all of them are the same. Your question is probably refering to extremists or fanatic religious people. The rest of them are ok

Probably because your idea of religious people is based on the actions of a hand full of fundamentalists

It sounds to me like you think you're better than them.

Not all religious people are like that. A big part of christianity is being humble. Unless you've met every religous person don't judge them.

I think you have a very narrow view of religious people. Most religious people I know are not like this at all.

I'm with u on this one

well this bothers me as well, they self contradict their religions which teach equality and not to be a proud/hypo , as for good/bad , it's not worth what they do if it is only for greed of heaven/fear of hell.
