I think the days of a threat of all-out nuclear war are over now.
The more likely scenario is one of using nuclear waste to create a dirty bomb effective over a small area to cause maximum disruption in a guerrilla-style attack.
If someone were to detonate a device such as this in an economic centre for example, the disruption caused by not being able to access the buildings and files in them would cause major losses to the economy of the country concerned. Although most major finance corporations and banks have secondary sites running backups of all transactions, the loss of even two hours of trading could cause a major loss.
The use of such devices to attack troops or machinery would also have a demoralising effect on any enemy. Short-range tactical nuclear weapons are far more likely than ICBM's now.
The Middle East is a boiling pot of tensions and this is the most likely area for use of such weapons.

Hahaa...
Not really.
Look, the world lived through 50 some years of a cold war with America and the Soviets. We had thousands of nukes pointed at each other which could have been launched at a moments notice. It never happened.
And exactly how would Iran nuke anyone? They dont have the bomb yet, and even if they built their first bomb tomorrow, they would have no delivery system to hit America or any other far away target.

Well I don't think Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia U helped any, do you?
If Iran does make nukes it won't be able to sling them far enough to get near the West, but it might just decide to 'wipe Israel off the map', which would upset the Yanks no end and all-out war would break out in that case.

No, I don't think Iran and USA have any problems that the rest of the world hasn't experienced at some time or other. And we are still alive.

No ones interested on here - much more concerned about the 'Did they/didn't they' McCanns story!!!
US needs to wake up as does the rest of western society to actually negotiating and building a relatinship with our neighbours where war is not threatened all the time.

Don`t think so, it`s just sabre rattling. Even the Iranian President said as much in an interview yesterday.

There's no need for a nuclear strike - a few well-aimed conventional weapons will do it.

This question is too naive to answer.
Particularly for when it is so desperately inarticulate and even a censuring comment contains asterisk-disguised profanities.
Education is a wonderful thing...
