I also didn't think Raccoons dug holes in the lawn, I thought it was the Squirrels.

theya re most likely digging for grubs to eat. put down some grub treatment, go to your local lawn and garden shop and ask what chemical works in your area, dursban and diazinon work in mine!

Raccoons usually don't dig, look for skunks instead, they'll dig for grubs and worms. You can go to Wal-Mart and get a bag of treatment, it's $16.00 and spread it around, it should work.
