I am having trouble getting an answer to this question as to if you can bring your own ECV into Disney World and let a four year old ride on it. Several have answered that if it is your own, they allow it, but I called guest relations yesterday and the lady said no. She had no helpful personality like most do that answer the phones, but anyhow, what is the answer to this? I even got an answer from one cast member that said yes, and that she rides her grandson on hers????? Thanks

they will not allow a 4 year old to ride on an ECV that they rent to you. Its age and liability and you need to sign a waiver and have proof of ID. I would allow your son to ride on your lap. Thats not illegal. As he is not physically driving it. Or if you bring your own from home than he can ride it himself.

You can always rent 3 and see what they tell you. But I wouldnt risk it. Personally I would make him walk as much as he can do and then let him sit in your lap.

Hi Shari! Well I am a former Disney World Cast Member. I know I've seen guests on ECV units, allowing their children or grandchildren to ride in their lap occasionally (although I recommend letting them walk most of the day if they can as it is a bit awkward). But to be sure, I contacted Disney World's Transportation department and spoke with a manager. She said that since it is your own unit and your own child, there are no policies that will restrict you from letting them ride with you - they just ask that you be safe, of course. I hope this helps answer your question!

It is better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.
