Robert Murat (McCanns' #1 suspect) abducts Madeleine from the apartment. Sends her to Morocco by sea or air, to a poor Moroccan family, in a remote town where people still grind corn with watermills.

Can anyone say ludicrous?

This whole case hasn't made sense from day one either its a money scam and the McCann's know where she is, safe and well, thus why they are so certain she is still alive, or they killed her somehow by accident or they found that she'd hurt herself while left alone and in a freak accident died, e.g banged her head too hard, they panicked in the heat of the moment and worried what it would do to their reputations as doctors and Catholics if it was found out she died due to their incompetance and selfishness as she was left alone or she really was abducted, she made her own way out the apartment looking for her parents (its already been ruled out by forensics that she was taken in the actual apartment) and someone managed to take her unnoticed in a busy holiday resort and Maddy just acted normal (I think not, no screams nothing) And the way the police ave handled it has been an utter fiasco from the start while Murat is the only suspect they can think of that would have a good enough reason to take her (she looked alittle like his daughter) but personally he seems to just be a scapegoat.

its just another story that doesnt add up, the only story that looks credible at this stage is the one about the parents. I think we all would wish that that little girl was Maddie but sadly I dont think it is.
The abduction story for me ran out of steam a long time ago and this is mainly due to the discrepencies in the accounts of that night by the Tapas 9.
I agree with your statement, Murat was a scapegoat.
Lets hope there is a break through in the case soon .

You like theories?

What if Madeleine was “abducted to order” to a wealthy family, and then let go in a remote village in Morocco when she became highly visible with all the publicity surrounding the case. That poor family with no access to the outside world found her and adopted her as her own daughter.

Do you like happy ending stories or do you prefer morbid ones?

To use the McCanns' favourite word these days, it's 'ludicrous'!

Sorry I started to laugh.. but you are right...
How would they be able to afford to look after her,if they are a poor, rural family.... and more importantly aren't BOYS valued more in Arabic/Muslim societies... the suggestion is that she was taken to give to an Arabic family merely for her looks

Ignore the backward comments above, it is always obvious to me that those who have no feasible response tend to go on the attack rather than simply answering what is a very reasonable question.

ludricous indeed. how would a poor moroccan family be able to afford to pay for her? certainly not with cows and sheep.

nothing in the whole story makes sense. Look at the other theory. The mccanns kill their daughter, somehow hide it near their apartment despite hundreds of police and people searching the area. Then put her dead body in a car several weeks later and somehow manage to dump it somewhere despite being almost constantly surrounded by press. They then continue to make the story famous and in the news despite being guilty of her murder.

Both stories seem just as far fetched if you ask me

it is not speculation but an alibi ; too coincidental to believe that an abduction of one child on the very night that you left them alone and the door unlocked; if it doesn't make sense, it isn't true
