I would study so I could teach. Never stop learning. Pass on what you have learned.

Both have to go together. the fact is if you are teaching you have to keep yourself updated with any new in the field that you are teaching.
I would't do it literally to earn a living. But I always make sure that I transfer my knowledge to people working with me. I believe it is a kinda of teaching.

in my experience it is almost impossible not to teach, what ever i do i end up teaching in some way. i prefer study but as soon as you study anything people ask you questions and you end up teaching anyway.

both worth nothing if you chose only one to live with............
i can tell you it's impossible !!......... for both will be rubbish !!
but at least to answer your question.....
i'll then choose studying, for at least i'll apply what i've learnt in my life, and also will share it with people as well as having the ability to argue ............... while teaching alone, means that you'll never accept any other idea except your own, and that is what i hate it most, the inability to discuss and argue !!

i'd prefer teaching and it was the dream of my life but since i finished college - May 2002 - am still studying wi lesa fadely about 7 years (M.Sc and PhD)

That's a tough one. neither i suppose.
If I have to choose, then teaching. you get to give knowledge to others and you definitely learn yourself.
But again. very tight choices
