Yes.
Most ppl are so caught up on the politics of 'today' that they can't see the bigger picture... I mean they are not able to step back and consider all the events over the past 4+ years.
Think about it... for 3 years all we heard about from Bush was 'DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ'. Now that things are not going so great, he never talks about that anymore. He only talks about Islamic extremists and stopping Al Qaeda.

Yes.
You see, The US government has given up on Iraqi Democracy me thinks. They realize Iraq maybe way too chaotic a place to institute such changes. So they go for the tribes. The Social backbone of the Iraqi people.

Like any struggle, the US will be forced to negotiate despite Israel's opposition and will broker a power sharing among all Iraqis.. just like the "Evian agreement" and the "Geneva cessez-le-feu"..
Look at from above and you will get a good picture.
It's just a matter of time regardless who will be on the Iraqi soil and for how long.
One thing is for sure, the US new Embassy in Baghdad, in construction will be vacant for sometime.

Our government is plain confused with Iraq. Surge, no - let's slightly withdraw, no - let's bring back to pre surge levels, tell the public three different things and let's see which one they like the most.
I'm not surprised at all. If Saddam were still alive Bush may as well have been contemplating putting him back in power.

The US does not support militias. The US military and Iraq military are fighting the muslim crazies, to keep control of Iraq.

Politicians are as fickle as bees. We have left the ball in their court so to speak, but somehow or other they always seem to support the wrong party. Murphy's Law, I suppose.
