I have started having very bad pains in my pelvis, almost stabbing pains. Not like period pain, which is a dull ache for me. I've also had sharp jabbing pains when having sex. Could the coil have moved and this is why it's causing me pain?
ps, I've had the coil in for nearly 2 years now.

I think so, because I used to have it quite often when I used it before. When I took it out, I still feel the dull ache, and it takes time to disappear. Do you check the position of your coil every time your period has finished? If you can still feel the string, I don't think it has moved. So it could be another problem that you need to discuss with your doctor.

I had exactly the same experience with my coil a few years ago. I was doubled over with pain and could barely walk. I ended up with a pelvic inflammatory infection and became quite ill. Go and see your doctor immediately. They will probably take swabs first to check for infection, and if that's the case, it will be removed. I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to see your doctor. Please get checked out ASAP as pelvic infections can lead to possible fertility problems.

Chan that truly is undesirable - yet its no longer in basic terms the Mirena that would take place with and there are multiple professional's to the Mirena. different IUDs have had those same style of issues take place and are you specific that it is your GP at fault right here? i understand of one woman colleague who had an identical style of undertaking with yet another style of IUD altogether, and her difficulty purely befell spontaneously after it sluggish with the IUD in and no person rather knows why. The pill can carry hazard of diverse forms of issues, condoms can tear - its all purely rather a case of it works for many, some are unlucky adequate for it to no longer artwork or to hold approximately nasty area outcomes or issues. Sorry to sound glib - you in basic terms could write it off as some thing that didnt artwork, get it bumped off. make your husband have a vasectomy!

could be your coil, i had the same one fitted in feb and have had the same probs with it, i went to try and have it removed but the threads had been cut to short and i was sent for an ultrasound to check it, it showed that it had moved slightly to the one side but i was assured that it would still help in the prevention of pregnancy which so far it has!!!!....im still wanting it out as i didnt have these pains before i got it fitted and dont think i can suffer them for much longer.

Yes, it could be related to your coil but I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think is going on.

yes it causes infection and backache....and pelvic pain

so not given to any who is having backache...

check with ur gyno...and have checked for pelvic inflammatory disease..

yes it can cause pain during intercourse too....if u have infection...

ps---infection doesnt show up because it is deep inside the womb..so
docs take a ear bud like thing called swab and take fluid or pus to check for infection inside ur womb...

plz see ur gyno and ask....
