I have a baby quilt that was made for me for my first birthday. It is very worn and I don't use it anymore. But I keep it around. There is a nice little message written on it by my aunt that makes me feel loved.
I also have several photos I've kept in various photo albums.

I keep my memories - happy and sad - though it's getting more difficult to remember as I get older - but some of the special occassions I attended as a boy (cousins weddings, family get togethers etc) are still quite vivid.

i have an old toy dog that is worn to the stuffing and thread-bare in many many places.
i also have a sky blue richly embroidered indian elephant ornament that keeps popping up (no matter how much i try to get rid of it..it's annoying as heck!!).
i probably have other little trinkets knocking around in my boxes of things, but i wouldn't know off hand what they are.
i hope this helps you out.
