yes the pill doesn't start to take full effect for about 3 months. you should never relay solely on the pill it is only 98% effective and that's if it's taken properly at the same time EVERY day and it doesn't protect against STI and STD's. as a back up plan it's fine. please be responsible when having sex

If you read your pill pamplet information, it will tell you that the pill doesn't become effective until 7 days after you begin taking it. Unless you started it on the very first day of your period, in which case you are protected. The pill is just over 99% effective, so it's possible to become pregnant anytime, just very unlikely. The pill is meant to be your only form of birth control (and more effective than condoms by the way), but if you are concerned that your pills are not effective enough, use another method of contraception like condoms or spermicide.

EDIT: The pill does NOT cause birth defects. This is a lie. Do NOT stop the pill if you think you are pregnant. You need to confirm a pregnancy. The pill does NOT cause abortion or miscarriage and is safe to take during early pregnancy. Never stop taking the pill unless you have confirmed a pregnancy or talked to your doctor.

Yes you can.

Read your pill packet because if you started taking the pill so many days into your period you are protected straight away but if it is before or after then you are not covered for over a week or so.

Maybe you need to go back to your GP and discuss things with them so you are fully aware of timings etc. Not only that they will be able to hopfully put your mind at rest if you think you are pregnant.

Hope you are ok

to fall pregnant? you must be from India? I've never heard anyone but people from India use the word fall in such a manner.
You can still get pregnant even if you take the pill every single day at the same time, as directed. It's only 98% effective.
You should really read the information that comes with the medicine you take, it explains all of this. I'd never take a medicine that I haven't thoroughly researched, especially a BCP because they can have such horrible side effects.
Tsk tsk!

Ur meant 2 start your pill on the 1st day of your period then you are protected straight away. However if you start your pill when you aren't on your period e.g you have just finished, you are recommended to use other methods of protection for the first week until the pill works its way into your system.

Hope this helps!

Yes you can..I actually got that news from my gyno yesterday. She said that I should give it a full month to be SURE...because the follicles that make the egg are already forming.
And when you do start taking the pill, make sure you take is as close to the same time EVERYDAY.

in case you have a 28 days cycle, you are able to plan on ovulation at approximately day 14. Sperm can stay interior you for as much as 5 days, so approximately 5 days after your era places you at day 10 or so of your cycle which might fall into your fertile window, so this is achieveable.
