TO reset your router you dont log into it. There will be a small pin hole somewere on the router, usually next to the power plug. You will hold the button in usung a paperclip or something small and then unplug the power. Count to 10 and plug the power back in and then release the button.
That will reset the router back to its default state.
You will then log into it. Usually the username is admin while the password is blank....

Mine is a D-Link wireless ADSL router.
After typing in http://192.168.1.1
I get a screen which asks for the user name and password, both of which are "ADMIN" by default.
Then I click on the "SETUP" tab, and then "CONNECTON 1" which takes me to the screen to input the user name (your e-mail address which may include an extra couple of characters), and your chosen password.
Then click "APPLY" and try to log-in again.
Good luck!

type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar of explorer and it should pop up with a login screen. If you haven't changed anything in the past, you can go to the makers site and look at the owners manual on-line to get login information. If you changed the information, then you will have to use a paperclip to reset the unit. Hold it for 10 seconds, then momentarily pull the power plug. That will set it to defaults.

Just open your we browser and type "Http://192.168.1.1" It will ask for your username and password. If you haven't set it yet, it is usually a combination of the words "Default" and "Admin". Depends on the brand of the router what the default passwords are, but you can use google to locate the default username and password.
