I'm using ADSL router with 4 LAN port. There are 3 laptops and 1 PC in my place. The problem is the internet usage is always exceeded every month. How can I control the internet usage from my PC ? Or is there any ways to block sites from my PC? Is there any software for solving this problem ?

There is lots of software you can use to block sites, but it would need to be installed on each computer as you are using a router and not a server to distribute your internet.

Most routers also have a firewall that you can go in and also tell it what domains to not allow access to. THere are also options in most routers to only allow internet connections during certain times of the day to certain computers.

It would be best if you consulted your routers manual to see if you have those functions.....

Setup a proxy server, and have all computer access the internet via the proxy server. You can set quotas for amount or bandwidth. Example: 200Kbps bandwidth with 10 gb of data. You can also control what times and sites visited.

If you have Administrative Rights to all of the PCs you couldd set quotas in the networking policies.

Through the router you can block sites and use mac addresses to set time limits for systems.

Look there are multiple Ways as in to Block them
1.>Install parental controls ans specify Time Slot for Internet Surfing
2.>Try to Specify particular IP Addressess in the Router Interface for MAc address wat you need to do is enter in the MAC address which you get when u go to -> Start->Run->cmd->In the balck window type in ipconfig /all
u'll come to know the MAC address
Specify that Mac address then your choice to allow or Deny
3.>Also wat you can do is Straightaway disconnect the cable of that computer!!!!
