Everyone should be proud of who they are. I'm proud of being gay, he's proud of being Mexican, she's proud of being Black, the guy over there is proud of being Catholic. These are all good things and we should all feel pride in ourselves.

I'm White also and proud of that. But the problem with White Pride is that sometimes it's presented in a way which makes it seem superior. It is not superior to any other color. It's just as good, but no better.

People that truly understand the difference between "Pride" and "Supremacy with hateful intent" would say yes.

It's a double standard that I personally hate, but not only are other minority groups attacking the concept: Some White people themselves honestly think a group such as the KKK is advancing the pride they have in themselves.

There's a fine line between the two things. It's perfeclty fine to have pride in yourself, and your race(s). Hating other groups and thinking your better, however, is not fine. You can have pride, but racism, nor supremacy are justified. That is not dependent on race either.

Is it ok? Due to all of the confusion: It's not ok unfortunately in many people, because again: People don't know the concepts are different. You can't stop it though: Those supremacy/racist groups use the term to describe what they are trying to do, and people recognize it accordingly. In order for it to be socially acceptable, all of those groups would have to change a lot of their statements and concepts.

Everyone is entitled to pride, but no one is entitled to supremacist views or worse. If you are proud of your racial group: Be proud of it, but you don't have the right to put down other groups (Not that I'm saying you do). I'm entitled to the same thing, but the same condition applies.

As long as you don't get to "White supremest" then there's no problem with being proud of being white.

But instead of saying White Pride. maybe you could specify.
Like I'm Proud to be Irish. and Irish people are white.
You see Irish Pride won't make people think your full of hate.

It's a stereotype really. people think anyone that's proud to be white is a KKK person, or racist.

i understand what you mean but the meaning of 'black pride' is because of the discrimination that black people have suffered over the centuries. their history has been taken away from them, there aren't many positive black roles models because there was a ceiling stopping many black people climbing to success. the thing is there is so much white history and role models for us white people to look up to. another thing is if you are mixed-race that makes it harder to find a mixed race role model. i mean yes there are positive black role models and black history month but only in the last decade or so.
i study at university and have been to many universities. i'm always around middle-class people and i am from a low class background. who do you think i see that is black in that class? 10% and 15% asian. the rest are white. black people ARE down-trodden by society and if you are around rich and successful people you will see it more. there are famous black people only because it's an 'image' and to reach out to everybody. wake up and see the truth because now i have seen the truth i don't believe that rubbish that black people are taking over.

I personally think that neither is a positive thing. Either type of "pride" only promotes more segregation and the feeling that one group is better than the other. So no it's not ok for either, to answer your question.

Not white pride. Irish, English, or German pride, but not white pride. White Americans don't have their own culture.
