i have one rather large bump (a bit smaller than dime sized) that appeared the day before yesterday.. and i did have unprotected sex with a random guy on friday.. it feels like a pimple, like under the skin, and isnt blistering.. i have an appointment with the gyno in 2 weeks to check this out but i want to put my mind at ease.. could this be herpes? it hurts a little if i touch it but thats about all. and there is only one.. no other weird symptoms

It is very deep under the skin, and only a bit reddish from what i can see.. the pics online for herpes look a lot smaller and this isnt in a cluster.

You may have a boil. It's no big deal, and very common. It is also pretty painful. Go to your local drug store and ask the pharmacist for some ichthammol ointment ( or a drawing salve, it should be really cheap ). Also, you may want to get some large band-aids and alcohol (to clean your sore and keep the ointment from staining your clothes). It should draw all that icky stuff out in about 12 hours. The pain will subside as the boil drains. Keep it clean and change the bandage often. Avoid shaving the area for a while because this can cause ingrown hairs, which can lean to boils. Tight panties can aggravate the area too! You should still see the doctor but hopefully this will put you mind at ease.

Ok, does it look like a zit only larger and a little deeper under the skin? If so, chances are its a boil. A boil is like a zit, only its a different bacteria and it is deeper in the skin than a zit. Herpes would be more on the surface, open and very painful to touch. This should underline the importance of showering with hot soapy water following sexual encounters of any kind.

Could be either a cyst or as the second poster said a boil. A friend of mine was dealing with one over the weekend and it caused her a great deal of pain.

I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on.

could be the begining stages of herpes.... maybe warts?? or just a big zit type thing... if it is inside the "lips" then more than likely it would be an std.. if it is on the outer part could be a zit or heat rash type thing.. maybe even an ingrown hair
