The suggestion for "Take the A Train" is certainly a good one. But if you want challenging and different material to make up a dance to, use something from Dave Brubeck's TIME OUT or TIME FURTHER OUT albums. They are mostly in "odd" time meters but readily identified and VERY GOOD music. Some of Carlos Santana's earlier tunes like "Europa", or something from The Mahavishnu Orchestra like the BIRDS OF FIRE album would be other non-traditional choices! Good luck.

Give a listen to Hiromi. Any one of her four CD's (Time Control, Spiral, Brain, Another Mind) would probobly provide you with the jazz music you're looking for. Good luck.

If you wanna knock 'em out, try dancing to 'Take the 'A' Train' by Duke. It is traditional, cool and good to dance to.
