Being completely debt-free would be very freeing - no working to pay the mortgage or car payment! I have been credit card debt free, but you know what, you just find other ways to spend the money you would have spent on credit card payments on something else.

Plan for your purchases ahead of time.Pay cash if possible-no credit term.Track your credit transactions.Keep a written record so you know exactly how much you charge each month.Develop a system for paying bills on time.Do everything you can to avoid late fees.Don't charge disposable items- food, groceries, gas, etc.Only charge what you can afford to pay in full each month.Use credit to your convenience.Determine in your budget how much you can afford to charge each month and still be able to pay the bill in full.Limit debt payments to 15 to 20 percent of your monthly net income.Don't fall victim to Minimum Payment Syndrome and get in the rut of only paying the minimum payment. This will keep you in debt for years to come.If you are unable to pay the balance in full, pay as much as you can.You could save years in interest.

I'd have more money to do fun things. Not just get stuck at home all the time. I could travel and I could take my niece to amusement parks and the zoo. It would also be nice to have more money for my retirement- since I have none right now.

You don`t get calls and letters from Collection Agencies all the time.
It makes it easier to buy a house or car or other stuff if you have good credit. Having good credit is one of the most important things! Mine sucks ***!

it would enable you to become debt-full again.
Who knows. I have student loans to pay back but that's going to take some time...I try not to rely on credit....that's where the trouble starts.

I would have a better credit rating which would make it easier for my husband and I to get a home loan and if I died suddenly God forbid then my babies wouldn't have to be saddled with my mistakes

Well, for one thing, there would be fewer arguments in my household. Second, I would have more money to spend each month.
