£20. Not much, but it won't take a long time to do. I've had relatives who have paid £400, which is simply taking the mickey. As for getting our window cleaner to do it - you've got to be kidding! He won't even wash the windowsills, let alone do the guttering.

as a self employed roofing contractor, im asked to do this dirty job often, usually the gutters are filled with rotten leaves, and bird droppings, as i live in brighton on the coast, its mainly seagulls droppings. to do the job safely takes two people, one at the top and one to foot the ladder, you can take risks if you want to, but why endanger your life for the sake of a few quid. i usually charge £50 for this dirty stinking, job.

If you are paying someone, then who is going to check that it has been done correctly? If you are going up a ladder to check it, you might as well do it!

Ask the window cleaner to do it, usually cheaper than calling someone to do it.
