1. build the trap
Cut 3 inch pieces of bamboo tips or thin twigs from a tree. Make a box using sewing machine heavy white thread and lashing the 3 inch pieces with square lashing (check the Boy Scout manual for illustrations).
2. set the trap up on a window sill
Raise one side of the box trap facing down and place a forked stick standing up under the edge.
Tie a piece of white sting to the forked stick and build a cricket blind in the room 5 feet away.
3. set the bait
Cut a 2 cm square piece of mango and place it under the trap, then get in your blind holding the other end of the string.
4. In a soft voice sing, You Are My Sunshine.
The song , particularly that song, will bring the cricket out to see, then he will notice and smell the cube of mango, and enter the trap. You have him by pulling the string to drop the trap.

Follow the sound of the cricket's cries. Little by little, you can get closer and locate where it is. Then catch it (shouldn't be too hard) and throw it out the window.

according to legend crickets in your house means good luck is coming.. but.. to answer your question.. just follow the sound.. they are easy enough to catch.. (just be careful, the limbs come off easily if you are too rough) and bring it back outside..
