Sometimes I see couples who look alike both in their body proportion and also face. Sometimes they dress exactly the same and wear the same glasses.
My boyfriend and I are both skinny and lanky looking, although he is 6'4" whereas I am 5'7". We have "lanky looking" limbs.
Why is this?

If you break up with him and date a 6'9" bodybuilder, do I still have to answer this? ;-)

Well, opposites attract in my case. My husband and I look nothing alike. I have an olive complexion with dark eyes and dark hair, and he is fair, red undertone, with green eyes and sandy colored hair. We are both average height and weight, though. I think he's beautiful, though, and I'm sure he thinks I'm quite lovely, too. Sometimes it's nice to appreciate the difference.

I don't think that's true at all. Maybe some do look a like, but in my experience, I've noticed that opposites attract. I always see blonde's with brunettes, Blacks with Whites, tall men with short women, light skinned Blacks with dark skinned Blacks, and so on. I always saw it the opposite of how you see it..
Opposites attract in my case. I'm African American with brown eyes and long brown hair. My husband is White, with blue eyes and bald headed. We look nothing alike.. But look good together anyways..

In sociology, Freud had a theory, in which he described that people looked for mates at similar "levels." These levels varied from physical appereance, socioeconomic, background, etc. In essence, people look for "mates" in people that reflect similarities to their own traits.

Because they breath the same air, they eat the same food, they ride in the same car and they have sex with each other which blends the DNA and makes it one. End of story.
