caitlyns mum: The lady who took the photograph was on a tour bus. In Africa (I lived there for 18 years) It is not unusual for a woman to to carry her child on her back, in a similar way this photograph, for the first 4 years of life.

justme. I did not have the vicious, offensive remark you made to this answer removed earlier. You are such an ignorant attention seeker, you are creepy, forcing your children to share your drugs, you disgust me. I thought we had agreed to ignore each other, guess not. Crawl away

justme: It would be apparent to anybody who sees your remark that you have instigated this round of disagreement, you have not addressed my question, merely sought attention and argument. You do not have the intellect or logic to interest me, wheither we were in agreement or not. You're just a junkie, dole dosser with a malicious, bitter nature and zero logic. Go and give yourself the multitude of thumbs up you usually do. You make me laugh

The photographer didn't download the photographs straight away so didn't realize what she had captured in this image or the significance, when she saw the image, she went straight to the authorities. Does anyone recall the endless, twisted, speculation a little while ago by the anti McCann mob because Madeleine is so tiny for her age? I think the quotes from charts had her around the size of a 2 year old.

Hi Freethinker, I posted the link to her picture yesterday and to my surprise many people just dismissed it straight away!
This is a picture of a European looking child with north African family. It's unusual combination but not impossible. I doubt it very much the Spanish couple would fake this picture to gain money... they will go to jail if it turned out to be fake.
I am cautiously optimistic

Hiya. Well I think it does resemble Maddie. She may look small but she is being carried in a papoose so she would be
a little hunched up anyway.
I just could not get over this little girl being with people that so
obviously are in traditional dress. She looks nothing like them. The police should appeal for them to come forward, if only to eliminate them from the enquiries.
I know for sure - if I saw someone that I thought looked like Maddie while I was in a foreign country, I would call out her name and see if she turns around. I couldn't leave it at that.
Lets hope and pray that Maddie is still alive.

Just seen photo on the news, and I must say it does have a resemblance, but until the photographic experts step in and look closely, then only time will tell. If it isn't Maddie then who knows, it could be yet another missing child. Having blonde hair and being carried by a Moroccan woman looks strange so there has to be something to come out of this photo whether it be Maddie or not.As for being carried at four years old, and being normal for them to do this at that age, even if it weren't normal, Maddie looks very dainty and light as some 4 year olds do.

It's very fuzzy, but I would say it's certainly a possibility. Whether it is or not, surely the question has to be asked - What is a blonde child doing with a group of african women in Morroco? It would be wonderful if it is. I would also like to say that whether it is or not, this picture probably would never have got into the hands of the police to be investigated if the parents hadn't kept her in the public eye, and publicised their plight all over the world. Surely that makes the publicity a good thing?

From the image on screen I think it looks like her but you can't tell from the zoomed image.
I see the dismissions from some saying that the child is too small but isn't Madelaine smaller than most 4 year olds anyway. I certainly wouldn't dismiss it. It is certainly proof that she could be anywhere in the world if abducted to order.
LOL I think Justme is on the wacky baccy with that answer.

I really hope that it is Madeleine. However, i have serious doubts that it may be her, even though there is a remarkable resemblence.
I think to myself and have discussed with others, why would they have her out in public showing her off when there is a (almost) worldwide search for her...she does look very small compared to a four year old - but pictures are always deceiving.
A co-worker suggested if it is, these people may have no knowledge of the abduction and somebody has sold her to them...It kinda makes sense but yea i dunno!!!
I pray for Madeleine to be re united with her parents, even though it was their wrong doing leaving her alone with her brother and sister. It would benefit Madeleine to be with her family.

I must admit, it really does look like her. I know everyone is saying she looks small, but I guess unless we had actually known her, we would really have no idea of how big she actually is! Not all four year olds are the same size. And anyway, the woman does look typically Moroccan doesn't she? Why would she have a blonde child with her? I sincerely hope that the search becomes more intense in Morocco now....hopefully it is her and she will soon be found.

i saw this on GMTV this morning and i was in shock! i thought it looked exactly like her. she looks a little small but none of us have met maddy so how do we know if she was a big or tiny 4year old. my neice is teeny for her age and i give her piggy backs everywhere (granted i'm nowhere near as old as that lady in the pic looks) but my parents carry my neice around too. maddy could be small and that girl in the pic could be her.
do u notice the way the little girl is looking at the camera??? if it aint maddy i'd still be worried!! that poor child could also be the victim of a horrible abduction and her parents could be out there going out of their minds with worry but receiving no help!
maybe it's not maddy but if the child in the pic is english and is the poor victim of an abduction, i hope her parents see her, recognise her and come forward and their nightmare can be over. some good has to come of this picture.
i'm remaining positive. this seems like the best bit of evidence in weeks. let all hope and pray it is maddy.
the only thing that puts doubt in my mind is the fact kate and gerry have seen the pic but even they aren't sure. surely parental instinct would lead them to knowing straight away that thats maddy or not??? i wouldnt know tho, im not a parent.
god bless to maddy, my thoughts are with her all the time.

It resembles her a little, but with it not being very clear, you can't make out her features or her eye.
I would wonder though, if it was Madeleine, wouldn't the family go to great pains to hide her rather than walk past a tour bus without blinking an eye.
I'd love it to be her, but I just don't think it is.

1, If this was maddie why did she take a pic and go home? why not call police there and then?
2, my daughter is 2 and if i carried her on my back i wouldnt last more than a few mins she is heavy so i cant imangine carrying a 4 year old on my back..
even if she was on a bus what stopped her still making a call? if i saw what i thought was maddie or any other child who was missing i would make that call even if it turned out it was a mistake but at least i would have tried!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter is small for her age she is 2years and 3 months and still in 9-12 months clothes.. but at the end of the day that child should not have been left alone for 2 mins let alone 30 mins..
and all these people coming forward that they have seen maddie not 1 called the police at that time....
