Yesterday, I was invited for the company Iftar in a hotel and as I was walking unaware of that glass panel, I smashed into the glass with a big "bang". My nose started to bleed at once and my face swelled but I am OK now alhamdulillah. funny, I felt stupid and embarrassed more than pain. What was your most stupid accident?

A little similar to your 'accident" but mine involved a mirror.
I was trying on some clothes in D.K.N.Y. which you may know is a very up market boutique.
Out I came from the change room to have a look at myself from all angles in their huge mirrors.I did the walking up and down thing and was a little concerned about the back view, so I asked my friend to check it out as I walked away.
You probably guessed it, I walked straight into one of the mirrors thinking it was another part of the shop.Duh!
Like I didn't even see myself coming!!!!!
I was so embarrassed, the sales girl gave me one of those disdainful looks while my friend was almost rolling on the floor in laughter. I quickly said, yes I will take it and after doing a quick change grabbed my new dress and fled out the door.
I've never yet worn the dress even though it cost me a fortune. As every time I look at it, I still see that snotty sales girls face.
Unlike you I never hurt anything except my pride and I guess like most of us that can do with a bit of a reearthing now and then.
Ouch! I'm sorry to hear you copped it "straight on" that must have really made you see stars. InashAllah your nose will be even better than it was!

Great Q, I gave you another star. Probably, early on, I made many mistakes, and don't strictly recall them, I learned in time, to be more aware of the issue, and my own safety, as well as any customer liability issues. I depend on GOOD references. That said, I can't strictly relate my own, but offer a couple of thoughts anyway. I learned long ago, it's often better to do something, ones'self, than to think a SUB or Labor Pool person, might GET IT. I've also learned from near miss experience that it isn't a good idea to step back and admire ones work, 60 ft. in the air on a scaffold or High Boy. Beyond that, I know I don't know everything, and as much as I know, I never admit to more. I understand very well the DIY concept, and have often been called to jobs that didn't go so well. I also know the nature of a DIY concept, and so much negative thinking about trades people, in a general sense, because very specific "contractors" BOTCHED something, but I have to tell ya, I'd pay their weight in GOLD for a decent Plumber, Electrician, Drywall finishing wizard, etc. IF I dared not do the work myself. Steven Wolf Just my 2 "sense"

Wow, I have sooooooo many, most of them because I have such a big mouth! hehehe One that comes to mind now, however, has nothing to do with my big mouth! I was with hubby in a shopping mall looking into a shop window at something. I then addressed him as he was standing next to me, asking him what do you think of this, is it nice, should I get it? A strange voice told me "you should really take a woman's opinion!" I looked up and it was not hubby dearest standing next to me. He had wandered off without warning and a strange man was there instead! I felt so embarrassed and my face was hot and beet red! I immediately rushed off after hubby muttering under my breath! I won't tell what happened after that! hehehe MEN!!!
Thank God, however, as it could have been worse. I was actually going to reach out and hold that man's hand assuming it was my dear hubby, which I didn't. I also thanked God that it was a gallery I was in front of, not anything embarrassing like a lingerie shop!LOOOOOOOL I would have died right then and there!
Edit:
Hope's second story reminded me ... hehehehe I was sitting in the chair right next to hubby when he came to visit us for the first time to propose. However, he had picked an awful day, completely unsuitable! lol I was sick and tired, had a very terrible look on my face taksheera Allah la yiwreek! Above all my colon was giving me a hard time, and my stomach was growling making noises sooooooo loud I was sure the neighbours could hear! I was so embarrassed and my stomach kept making those noises nonstop! My mom called me to the kitchen under the pretence of helping her with the trays being presented, and told me ifridy wishik da what will they say?!! Honestly I could have cared less then! All I wanted was to go and rest in my bed! Looking back on that day, I have no idea why and how dear hubby ended up mitdabis fiya and marrying me! LOOOOOL

I was walking to the gas station with no socks and shoes on it was around like 110 degrees and was walking all of the sudden I feel this painful burning under my foot I happend to step on a cigarette OUCH!!! didnt walk barefooted for a while!
One other time I walked about 3 miles in flip flop sandles and it was blistering hot I walked to town and back and by the I got home the sandles where grinded into my skin so when I took them off the skin came off with it and my toes and the side of my feet had matching blisters I sure learned my lesson and still have those matching scars!
Was walking down the stairs and was stretching my legs out on the stairs and playing around I went to stretch my one leg out and I had stepped on my pants that where silk and slid all the way down the stairs I had a bruised tail bone!!!

sorry to hear abt ur nose. r u ok now? I hope ur better. don't worry abt it, things like that happen to everyone. I can't remember anything now but I' sure I've done a lot of stupid things lol
Edit:
Ok I just remembered an incident as I was making an apple pie today. So one day I wanted to make a cheese cake. I made it manytimes before and it usually came out good. but this one time......
I was 'supposed' to add 2 cups of sugar to the dough, and I 'supposedly' added it. I put it in the oven but after 15 mins I sensed a weird smell... It didn't smell like something sweet.. so I took it out and tasted it and..................................
IT WAS SOOOOO SALTY!!!!!
yes it turned out I added 2 cups of salt instead of sugar.
that's not all. I was determined to make my cheese cake. I started with a new dough for the crust but it came out very liquidy. No matter what I did to try to fix it, it still ended up in the garbage can.
I was still determined to make it! everything went perfectly fine this time.. then I put the crust with the cheese filling in the oven. I took it out and it was.................
BLACK! fa7ma!!! lool yes I burned it.
well I gave up after the 3rd try.
yes that was very stupid of me, but the smart thing is..... my husband didn't know anything abt what happened hehehehhe
rabena yestor with the apple pie :))

I was using an exacto knife (resembles a scalpel) to cut plastic pieces off. For some reason I didn't bother to cut one plastic piece off, and instead I tried to push cut it in the air (sort of the posture of bending prison bars). The knife slipes and really sliced into a finger, right to the bone.
I was with some people and we decided to walk on the beach. I didn't want to get my shoes and socks full of sand so I took them off. They decided to take a walk on a wooden pier, so I walked bare foot on the pier. That wasn't a problem, but that night the bottom of my feet were full of blisters and i couldn't walk on them for a couple of days. I guess it happened to enough people that they put a sign saying that shoes are required to walk on the pier.

So, you never told us, did the glass break??
That same thing happened to me too. I was with a girl I really liked and was a bit nervous. I was concentrating on making a good impression. As we were going into a shop, BANG! didn't know what hit me. The girl was laughing hysterically. so was everyone else who saw me.
Later that day, she said that it was kinda cute what had happened.
Women, can't understand them can ya.

I was abroad in a bus, my hands were free and the bus moved suddenly. My hand moved unintentionally in a very fast reaction to grasp a handle. There was a very cute girl near and my hand accidentally passed over her face like a slap also her ear ring. I can't explain how was her surprise and may be some pain.
In that country English was not widely spoken and I tried to say (Sorry) in her language. I knew only one word for that and it wasn't enough or suitable for that situation. This word was only to be used when someone make a small mistake or step over your feet.
The bus was moving and we were face to face for sometime without a word after I repeated the only word I knew for that.
The girl was very innocent and didn't make any sound after that, but I was thinking about any machine that can help me to disappear immediately !!
