The earth is a grand carnival filled with attractions and distractions. It is this way through the aggregation of the exercise of will by the billions of people who have inhabited the earth who made billions of choices over thousands of years. We must use our will to make the right choices in navigating this unbelievably diverse set of soul building and soul destroying possibilities. In my opinion this means that we must remove the distractions that prevent us from fulfilling the flowering of our own spirit and experiencing love for God and each of our fellow men. We do this through a deepening appreciation of our shared consciousness with God.

Once I knew a artist and I asked him, "How long does it take to paint these beautiful works of art?" and he said that "It takes a small amount of time to apply the paint but then I must take a much longer time to remove that which does not belong." We each have a great deal to remove to achieve our true self and reunion with the Eternal God. These scars on our soul were formed through mistakes we have made and unfortunate experiences in our life. This is an important act of will, the result of which will permit a much deeper understanding of ourselves, our God, and the path we must pursue. At the moment of our physical death all of these attractions and distractions dissolve and we are left with our true self, the product of our consciousness and it should be a self that is prepared for reunion with God.

I would imagine the will, or ego-self, is the nearest most people get to their ultimate inner reality. As the first answer so wonderfully illustrated, the will constructs a reality, an illusion, which is based on our desires. That is, if the will was the ultimate inner reality, then it would have no need to strive for the ideal of an ultimate inner reality. It would already be it. In the same way, if it was the secret of all things, it would not need to strive to be, it already would be.

It has been in my experience, if one wants to experience the ‘ultimate reality’ either inner or outward, then the will, in fact, needs to be quite in its endless striving and grabbing. Then again, I follow the ‘enlightenment’ branch, and if you are referring to the ‘achieving’ or ‘make what I want happen’ path, then the first answer would be the better one.

From a scientific approach, I believe 'reality' to be a projection of the mind. Every sense we experience is processed by the brain, so who's to say that the brain does not create the illusion of touch, smell, taste, sight and sound? It's a hot topic in today's science and physics. Reality has become a separate philosophy itself. Although there are many theories, some even partially proven, up to this day no one has been able to confirm reality's true existence. For that to happen one must first understand the entire network of the brain. Since that won't be happening any time soon, it's suffice to say that we'll have to use the simple definition of 'reality' for a while.

Hmmm ... I think you could say so. You can will yourself to believe whatever you want and to work for anything. You can use your will to create your inner reality. In fact, even those who don't have strong wills are willing their inner realities into existence by choosing (or willing) to accept the things that have become their reality.

Definately I would say will is the secret of all things. Almost anything you can dream can be willed into existence if you want it badly enough. It is possible to handle life and make it go your way if you are willing to work at it, to learn the skills you need to handle things and to work to achieve your goals.

Personality is the source of our will. Within our minds, of all normal humans over about age six years, we each have a pure, prepersonal spirit Will of God within. (The future, potentially perfect, You) God has willed that personality in our space-time universe has control over prepersonality. This allows humans to will (volition- decision- choice- desire) to do God's Will or not. As you choose to do God's Will, the soul level You becomes more real. Think of soul as an ellipse or egg with two focii F1 and F2 When F2 human will cooperates with F1 God's will, the ellipse or egg grows larger and more perfect. This is rough symbolism as cosmic reality is eventually experienced in seven dimensions.

The seven Will combinations of the Paradise Trinity are:

1. Will of the Father
2. Will of the Son
3. Will of the Spirit
4. Will of the Father-Son Union
5. Will of the Father-Spirit Union
6. Will of the Son-Spirit Union
7. Will of the Father-Son-Spirit Union

Number 7 above, is not the same as the Paradise Trinity. Yes, this Trinity Reality will, sooner or later, to be seen to be expanded to infinity. For many hundreds of pages more on this, for worthwhile lifetime perusals, just email me here at my Profile.

No; I am not God. The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

The Will is about choosing when, not only what.

caring- Generativity vs. Stagnation
wisdom- Integrity vs. Despair

Well we all have free will to either accept the authority of God or reject it. So the secret of all things is to surrender our will with the will of God and we will be eternally happy. Top secret stuff. But no one wants it.

Secret of all things... in a way yes.

The will does not exist, and that realization is the answer everyone is looking for.
