Density is the amount of mass a material has in a given volume. It is found by dividing the mass of an object by its volume. The mass of an object is a physical property that describes the amount of material in an object. This is not the same as weight!

So in order to find the density of an object, you need to know its mass and its volume.

The formula for finding density is: Mass / Volume

Hope this helped!! :)

very simply, mass and volume

most commonly it is in kilograms per cubic meter

mass/volume=density

in response to the response below me, it is mass/volume not weight. Weight has nothing to do with it, it is how much "stuff" is in something per amount of volume not how hard the earth is pulling something per amount of volume.
