IEE-1934 is only for data transfer, where S-Video is strictly a video signal. The two formats are for two completely different purposes.

If the jack on your Dell is an S-Video jack, then it is not IEEE-1934. My Dell Laptop has the same S-Video jack and I use a standard S-Video cable. Any standard S-Video cable should work. If your VCR has an S-Video connection then you can connect them together. Remember that S-Video is for video only, it will not give you audio.

If your VCR only has RCA connections, you can find an S-Video to RCA adapter at Radio Shack that will allow you to connect the two. However, you will have to connect a cable from the audio output on your PC to the audio input on your VCR if you want sound as well.

Theres probably not a cable already set up that won't need some sort of interface box. Try to find yourself a friend who is a computer genius/electronics brain and have them "make you one". I had to have my friend in Arizona make a special cord to hook up my computer to my television S Video connection which took a little work but he was able to do it. It's not as easy as you would think because if your not careful you could fry one or both of the systems if one of those wires is not connected to the right color other wire. Inside those S Video Cables are a lot of different wires with different colors so if your not absolutely sure please be careful or you might lose both systems.

Good Luck and don't take any chances unless your are willing to take that chance okay.

.........think about it and be careful..............

S-video cords have only 4 pins. Make sure you get the right cord.
