Finger nail polish remover has been spilt and has left marks right down to the raw wood of a wooden table. How can I repair the damage without refinfishing the whole table. I am no carpenter either.

You cannot do that. Unfortunately, you are going to have to refinish the table. There are plenty of ways to get that finger nail polish out but I cannot see any ways that will do it without damaging the finish. You might have been able to get away with this if the polish had not gone down to the bare wood. You are going to have to remove the polish then strip the table down and give it a new finish.

You can try and sand the area lightly and match the stain and clear-coat, but that is almost more trouble than sanding it down and starting over AND really won't work... I would take it to a furniture repair shop, but they will probably tell you the same thing.
