If God represents the enormous entity that has created us and we were supposedly created in Gods image, should'nt He have elements of She. Also do u believe christianity has tried to demonise women?

The name for God in the Hebrew language is "Elohim". Most scholars acknowledge that this word has a plural ending, which some use to suggest an Old Testament anticipation of the Trinity. What most scholars either do not know or care not to inform their constituents is that "Elohim" is not the plural of "El" the masculine form of the name. It is plural of the feminine, "Elowah". Strictly speaking, we can translate the Old Testament name for God as "goddesses".
Such a fact is naturally shocking to traditionalists who are largely ignorant of the origins of their faith. We do not favor, however, a translation of the name for God into the feminine because masculine pronouns are used in association with "Elohim". But we do argue that the use of the feminine ending by Divine Revelation ought to settle unequivocally that God's being encompasses both the masculine and feminine genders. Indeed, when describing man as made in God's image, the Scriptures say,
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

1. I don't know. I was raised Catholic, but I rejected it wholeheartedly. So I'm not going to take a stance on what the gender of an omnipotent being whose very existence I doubt is. Why do people claim that the Judeo-Christian god is a man? I think that does have something to do with patriarchy. If you look at religion as an anthropological phenomenon, then it's going to reflect the values of a society. If the society thinks that men should be in charge and that men are stronger, they're going to have a male god. If you've got a matriarchy, they'll have a goddess.
Look at Latin-American/Spanish (and maybe Italian) societies, despite the machismo on the surface, they seem more matriarchal to me, at least. And they've modified Christianity to where they worship Jesus AND the Virgin Mary or the Virgin of Guadalupe. So there are quasi-Goddess figures within Catholicism especially.
Has Christianity tried to demonize women? Sometimes, but not always. It's a huge historical force for the last 2000 years. Only in very limited time frames did it have any sort of unified, hierarchical existence (even before the protestant reformation, there were schisms within Christianity). Some of the things that many Christians have done at times were pretty deeply sexist (or misogynistic), but it's impossible to extend that to the religion as a whole, across time and space.

i think it goes like this: God created man in His image, then created woman from the first man<
demonize women? hmm perhaps, men are the more sexual creatures of the two and man so creating women as seductresses...hmm men tend to think with their uno whatsits...also, i think that the catholic church tends to homosexuality....
on a lighter note about that...could be that the original bishops priests etc, werent exactly desirable men either and since they werent 'getting any' ...decided their lack of was piety and gave them cause to judge others. who knows?
Culture and religion dont 'happen' overnight...it is an accumulative historical and continual event...
i think christianity or maybe the women's movement has done far more to demonize women than any other culture or religion by putting the woman into the work force and leaving the government to raise children. its a shame. the kids learn about drugs and whatever else the government decides to put in books and curriculum. even catagorizing our children into dishwashers, blue or white collar by the time our kids reach 1st grade...their lives are being directed thusly.
man nor women are demons...they are individually measured by deeds that are good or bad. as a whole, i think men are a bit afraid of women's strengths...that might be considered threatening to the male ego.

God is neither man nor woman. but masculent terms are applied to this entity because we understand males are the stonger sex but its not discrimitive. its just natural autonomy. its just the way we exalt this powerful being. he is powerful. more powerful then the embrace of a strong man. that makes us feel safe, secure.
but now christians do not demonise women. eve was the other half of adam. and there are alot of examples of powerful women in christianity. for example, juanita bynum, paul white...and in the bible there is esther, mary, sarah, so on and on.

obviously, yes. Unfortunately, christianity isn't the only religion that has done this. In case anyone doubts the involvement of religion in demonising women, the greeks have the story of pandora's box where pandora, the female, disobeyed and opened the box out of curiosity and is responsible for bringing about all human ails; christianity has a similar story. eve ate the apple and made adam the spineless partner eat it too so now she is responsible for all the ails in humanity. the blaming and control of women also exists in other religions and societies. i am not sure how this practice came about but it is a maladaptive way to gain an advantage and obviously ancient men fell prey to it and ancient women failed to come up with ways to defend their rights

Christianity has built its entire foundation on demonizing women. Eve--evil Eve. And because Jesus is God and God is Jesus, God must logically be male.

some religions ie pagan ones esp nature worshippers think of God as a she...ie mother nature or...mother Earth...
im a Christian and im not sure God has a gender as such...since God Himself created the polarities of male and female..but he is fatherly in his holiness and justice...and motherly in the gentleness of his love, kindness and forgiveness
