I am A 17 year old male who lives in North Carolina, my 16 year old female friend who lives in Iowa has been raped by her brother recently and she wants to run away from home. I told her she shouldn't, and she doesn't want to go to the police or an adult but I told her so many times she should but she doesn't want to listen and here parents don't care about her at all so I just want to go get her so she will be safe. any advice?

It should be reported to the police....like, yesterday!!! How are the parents? Would they take any action?--but she still needs the police....arrest his a**, and will probably need counseling. Do that first...right away!!!!

You may feel troubled because of the uncertainty of the situation. Where would the best place be for her to find some peace of mind after what had happened? I don't think home is the best place to feel safe if her brother lives in the same house.
Tell her to call or seek a rape victims doctor so she isn't badly injured or pregnant. It's important to check up, so don't waste another minute.
If you could offer your place, that would be great. I am sure she is visibly shocked so calm her down and inform her she has to go visit a doctor. Meanwhile, she might need your support so stay in touch, be strong and reassure her she'll be alright. You'll have to tell this to an adult (if you are young) who can better help your friend get through this. Goodluck and do take care of your friend and yourself.

It sounds very serious like if she stays she will probably keep getting raped. Has she told her parents? If the parents don't help there is always help elsewhere. Like she can tell any adult at her school most likely the nurse or her counselor, but make sure that she has told her parents first and only if they didn't help. When I told my counselor she called CPS on my mom even though my Father the rapist was already gone so I had to say that I lied or else they would of take us away from my mom who didn't do anything wrong.

If you are putting her in a safe environment to adjust and take steps to justice you are a hero not a bad guy. If she doesn't go to the police she is admitting she liked it or deserved it- right? I am sure I don't have to tell you, but treat her gentle. Don't touch her, not even on the hand let her venture out! Talk about it enough that she adjusts but not to much that she obsesses.

You did not mention where you live, or how old your friend is, but this crime should really be reported. Staying in the house where he is certainly does not sound like a safe option. She should report it to the police or to an adult at school.

im so sorry to hear that about ur friendand so i will give u my answer,u should call the authorities and let them know what has happened and let them deal with the perv who did that to her.if u harbor a minor u will be charged with kidnapp and harboring a minor so i syggest u get that out of ur head eventhough it might seem like the right thing to do.she needs a good friend right now and if u talk to her and try to understand her she will feel a lil bit better. but yeah call the authorities beacause if he is still their who knows if he will do it to another sibling. and this way she will be safe as well.

If you know she is being hurt then why don't you call the police for her. She is scared right now and needs to removed out of the home until they authorities can investigate...She will be placed in foster care while they haul his butt off to jail. PLEASE call the police and get your friend the help that she needs. She needs to go to the ER room so they can do a rape kit on her and check her out!! Don't wait till its to late!!

no, you can't get into trouble for helping her run away but i would first report the incident to her parents and the police....if she isn't comfortable at home, help her find a place to stay where she IS comfortable until things get a little better....best of luck!

Get her out of there!!!! Have her turn her brother in. There is something very wrong with that. If she doesnt get out things may get much worse. But yes, be careful.
