Koo-Koo-Ka-Choo is a songwriters cheat, a nonsense syllabic device used to make the line scan properly. It has nothing to do with "I Am The Walrus", because it was written before Lennon wrote "Goo goo g'joob". In fact, many people thought Lennon got his line from Paul Simon, but that didn't happen either. Mrs. Robinson was not released until after "I Am The Walrus.

I've heard that it was inspired by lyrics in The Beatles song "I Am The Walrus" If you listen to the song, you'll hear John Lennon saying the same phrase right after he sings "...I am the walrus".

I believe it refers to a line from a popular Beatles song of the day. I think it's meant to evoke the youth of the man having the affair with Mrs. Robinson in the movie. (The Graduate)

ADDENDUM: HypotheticallySpeaking may be right about the origin of the phrase in the Beatles song. They did play in clubs in Germany when they were starting out.

I don't know either!! it comes out in a beatles song too. i think it might just be like one of those "YEEEAAAHHHH" parts of modern songs that maybe shouldn't go in there lyrically but fit with the emotion of the song. thats i can make from it. maybe mccartney can debunk this question.

Paul Simon sneezed, but the record producer liked the sound of it, and left it in, anyway. . . .
