Multiplying by the inverse or reciprocal is the easiest way to accomplish this.
Simply take -5/7 and multiply it by 5/7 (that is the reciprocal).
This will give you -25/49

just multiply the numerator by the numerator of the second fraction and then multiply the two denominators:
- 5/7 divided by 7/5
will be
-5/7 * 5/7
5/7 is the reciprocal of 7/5
so -5*5 = -25
and 7*7 = 49
so the answer is
= - 25/49
it doesnt matter where you put the negative sign in the fraction, (whether it is on the numerator or the denominator) as long as you do not miss it out.

to MULTIPLY fractions, you multiply the numerators together to form the numerator of the answer, and multiply the denominators together to form the denominator of the answer
to DIVIDE fractions, invert the divisor fraction and multiply.
in your example
-5/7 divided by 7/5 =
-5/7 multiplied by 5/7 =
(-5 * 5)/(7*7)= -25/49

I was always told "To invert and MULTIPLY".
e.g. - 5/7 DIVIDED BY 7/5
becomes -5/7 X 5/7
which is = -25/49

use the law of the sandwich
(-5/7)/(7/5) = (-5*5)/(7*7)
the highest multiples the lowest an the middle ones multiply them for each other
