Put it this way. How do you suppose we would take it if another nation told us -we- couldn't have nuclear weapons? And, just to make it worse, their president couldn't pronounce 'nuclear'? 8^)

So far as anyone can prove, all Iran is trying to do is to make nuclear fuel for the nuclear power reactors WE SOLD THEM! President Bush could offer to -supply- them with nuclear fuel if they'd agree to the UN's inspection protocol that all nuclear nations do. But Bush doesn't do that because he wants to make them into an enemy, for his own purposes.

Flawed thinking includes stuff like hes a madman etc. Its all bull. Look at N. Korea theres a nutjob if ever one lived and we are having great negotiations with him. He got the bomb and all it resulted in was no first strike and now hes sane enough for negotiations. It also got him off the axis of evil. I remember so much crap spewed about this guy and now what? Did some miracle occur. Did he start taking antipsychotic medication. I dont get all the stupid people that were on board with saying we really have to stop N. Korea? Where did they go why arent they going on and on anymore?

Iran is less dangerous than N. Korea. Remember we are technically still at war with N. Korea!!!
Its not our job to enforce the UN resolutions etc. Especially not with our blood.

Fair isnt a word I would use in the context of nuclear proliferation.

The US asked them to do so, because they have no economic leverage against them, so they use this leverage!
Its not a matter of fairness but global dominancy! If the US don't control the Irannians, than China and Russia will certainly control them, and this is what is seen unacceptable by your leaders!
Its like saying if you are not with us, you are against us, and in a age where ressources are getting scarcer, who control Iran means everything! So if the Irannian authoristies don't comply with the US and allies demands (for more influences in the Irannian affairs and businesses), they will cruch Iran in a way or another, but I fear that it may also means that others non aligned countries will use the occasion to jump in and mess with the cards... In any case, it could be a first step in a world war, as if Iran lose against the Occident, the Chinese and Russians will be cornered, and they couldn't allow that to happen! They will certainly risk something there... Lets see!

Iran is a dangerous country and they don't need nuclear weapons, because anything could happen. I wish the USA would start the process of negotiating the elimination of all nuclear weapons on earth. We don't need them for one thing because our conventional weapons are so accurate, Generals have said this. Also all nuclear power facilities should be banned and closed down on earth, the main reason is the potential for pollution, if there is a leak and the storage of the spent rods is a problem. All energy should be localized, such as solar at your home or a wind generator in your back yard, not to mention dozens of other ways for you too make your own power. I would like to see nuclear banned world wide.

This Nuclear development could be a our biggest problem so how can we strengthen our future economic growth since the real estate problem that's creating ups and down in the stock. Yep Our currency dropped, there are signs of a possible crash, and Wall Street are being like firefighters to put out the flames. You remember the history off what help us get out of the 1929 great depression. We have created hate from other countries and the media makes you comfortable to believe that this is whats really going on. Its just like 30 second president but they took it to the max. IF there were never fashion on TV there wouldn't be any good clothes to choose from great stores. TV taught us to make more money so we can buy and it created other problems too. My point is don't believe the media/news before you get your facts because the media/news can control your movements. I believe were in big threat no matter if we find Nuclear bombs because it will happen so quickly that its too late to stop the threat.

Beauty&Brains,

If you believe that Iran would use a nuclear weapon on its ememies, then you would understand why the rest of the world doesn't want them to have one.

If, on the other hand, you believe they are a bunch of wonderful, but misunderstood, mature, stable people with a group of responsible sensible leaders, then you would believe it is unfair to stop them.

As for me, when I read about a small community in Northern Iraq that stoned (in the biblical sense) a young girl to death for falling in love with an islamic boy, it made me think that perhaps they are not quite ready. Incidentally, that was the same small town that became a target for an islamic suicide bomber a few days later that killed 150 of the villagers.

That is the Middle Eastern culture. They are still primitive. Some of the Iranians used their oil money to get educations in American universities, but it is not clear to me that they are ready for the leap to the modern world yet and certainly not for the weapons of the modern world.

Let them build a society and culture that can get along with the rest of the world and then worry about arming them.

you may unlike this, however the worldwide needs nuclear and if we don't bounce on the band wagon which will somewhat harm are economics and we are able to might desire to rely on them for potential. With all this neat technologies, we desire electrical energy to run it. in case you call up your potential corporation and tell them to coach off you potential and you attempt to stay like that for a month, then you will comprehend why the worldwide needs nuclear. With the main dazzling variety of reactor, you may put in the direction of nowhere for as much as 30 years and furnish potential to those who in no way had that luxury. Nuclear waste isn't a concern. France, Japan, and specific even Russia reprocesses nuclear waste. we are able to recuperate ninety 9% of U and Pu... to reuse. Now we minimize down the waste from million and hundreds of thousands of years to hundred thousand. Russia an d the Europeans are finding in to more suitable gas cycles (look up Orient more suitable gas Cycle). in the event that they might prefect it and make it useful, then we minimize the waste all the way down to 1000 years for specific perhaps get all of it the way down to the 1000's. it is going to ensue, by way of fact it somewhat is obtainable and potential is potential. question we'd desire to consistently be asking... can we could like the U. S. to be greatest the p.c.. or eating dirt.

What other countries such as Iran use as an argument against the US is that we are the only country to ever use a nuclear device and yet we are the one's deciding who should have them and who should not. Intellectually they may be right, but being practical the US cannot allow unstable regimes like Iran and North Korea to have a nuclear arsenal.

I just think it's hilarious that the main parties trying to stop Iran are the largest exporters of weapons in the world (US, Russia, France and GB). Who supplied Saddam Hussein? Who suplied the Taliban when they took power?

Let the Iranians have their power and adhere to the same rules as everyone else with nuclear reactors. They're not willing to lose their contry all together so chances are they would never send a nuke even if tey had one. If someone sends one, you can be pretty sure someone else will send one back.

Let America shut down all their nukes, then they can start complaining.

No; Mr. A is either delusional or very dishonest, maybe both, so I really don't trust him with nukes or anything else.
Iran has some of the greatest petroleum resources in the world, but doesn't have a refinery, so they have to get gas from foreign sources. So why is he trying to get nuclear power? Is this logical, if he only wants to develop energy? No; I have to conclude that he wants to make a nuclear weapon in order to gain his ends.

It's called hypocrisy.
The USA is the only country in history that has shown itself willing to use nuclear weapons against civilian populations.
If it really wanted other nations not to have them it should lead the way.
