No, they have no legal title. This is like selling star names - all you're really getting is a fancy certificate.

On the other hand, if you were to go up there now and homestead on your moon lot, chances are no one would do anything to stop you.

there are a qutie a few different people doing things like this. Some are doing it to accumulate funds to actually go there (as most government space agencies got bored with the idea until recently). they are generally working on the stake your claim method, we get there first we own it. Space Law would dispute this but Space Law is even more spurious than International Law.

Its possible that you may buy your plot then the company gets enough money and they go there then you may own a nice piece of moon pie but, like any form of contract its unknown if the contract is binding until it is tested in court (which we can assume if you got there eventually some court would claim jurisdiction). Even if your claim was held up eventually one would expect that eventually, much like when sovergn nations annex another area those titles could become worthless.

I say buy one, its a cool story and you never know, you may end up owning something valuable.

If this got here to you via way of the U.S. Postal provider then it may likely be seen mail fraud. regrettably policies have not caught up with all the scams on the cyber web. Now once you're somewhat contained available for some property i've got a bridge you would be interested in, i think of it may bypass via the call of Roebling. yet extra useful permit me understand speedy because it somewhat is a warm prospect.
