america is the only country in the world, who gave everyone a home who did not have one or was not happy with theirs. it is the only country in the world, who has almost every culture combined ...which is a great proof of how well people from other backgrounds can work together. we have things that are not perfect but so does everyone else. mostly we have opportunities that no other country has. i wonder....why do people hate it? yet they are obsessed with hearing all about it. and then it hit me...it is kind of like seeing a beautiful person. who has the beauty, brains and heart..and not to mention money. on top of that it is happy and sometimes sad. yet in the end it has the power to change all the bad things that are in ones life to make it better...who wouldn't be jelous of such a person? exact thing goes for the states...so please let me hear your guys' complains this time..what is so terrible, and so much worse then where you live?

probably because so many of them are stuck up clueless snobs who cannot exist without an effing cell phone and spend thousands on a stupid mansion for their dog while going out to eat at all-you-can-eat buffets and throwing enough food per person to feed a family for two days, all while being clueless of how herded they are or how to survive on their own without the supermarket where clothing and food is provided in such quantity that the amount tossed away each day without thought or care is rocking the rest of the world, who are the ones who at least know how to make and prepare these things.

Not to mention the fact that it is filled with hypocrites who think they have the right to say "keep the immigrants out" when they are all immigrants who stupidly defend their occupation by saying "we won the war" instead of realizing it was eradication and extermination they did, and make themselves more the hypocrite by then condemning hitler.

Learn some history. FDR banned a ship full of jews to land in the US. They were fleeing Europe because Hitler was persecuting them. What did FDR do? He sent them back to Germany. America does not have the brains, nor beauty nor heart. Money is being borrowed constantly from other countries (i.e. China) hence the reason US didnt do much when they had the scandal about the toys with lead paint so that China didnt **** up with their interests. I was born in the US and I'm embarrased to be an american. I plan on renouncing my american citizenship and keep my canadian citizenship.

I don't hate America.I think Americans should be proud of what they've accomplished in this world. You shouldn't feel bad about your country just because someone says its bad.People here talk smack about my country(India) all the time. But why should I care for the opinions of someone who hasn't even seen my country and someone who's bases their opinions on watching some stupid show on CNN or Fox news?
I've observed that Americans seem to think whatever they don't know or don't understand doesn't deserve to be acknowledged.I think Americans are becoming more and more Xenophobic, possibly due to terrorism.Thats probably making a lot of people mad

When you ask for opinions, you will probably get them. Not everyone thinks that America is the Bees Knees to all that is good. So you may have answered your own question. There is nothing wrong with having pride in ones country, as a healthy esteem. When it becomes a case of arrogance, it is no longer healthy, but leads to abuse of others through imposing opinions over others rights, and demeans their importance as being relevant. Arrogance is a nasty twist to pride. I would say that is the answer to your question.

Some of us...dont like it because some time ago, our ancestors were taken from their own land, and were forced ,transported over here, and sold like a piece of property, and worked and worked by folks like us,but a different color..like they were the stuff and we were nothing..We couldnt do anything,be in control of anything, but were being controlled by another by force..All though we brought it on ourselves because we rebelled against the God of Israel and He warned us it would happen and it did...Anyhow..this country treated us like crap. Its been generation after generation, until now,my generation...And from then til now,we've been forced to still live with those and be cool with those who treated us that way,enemies..Been forced to serve a false god not known to us from the OT..u know him,JC...And,things have changed a little, but not much since then,so its really no different for us..But if ur not us,then u have no idea and wouldnt know,or understand...Most of us cant wait til we can finally be back in our land, and its promised to us that live in the way of the God of Israel..Least where we came from,we had our own way of life, that this america doesnt want us to have, and continue to keep us from..It may be beautiful and crap to those of u who didnt endure what our ancestors did and what we are now..but its crooked..the modern day babylon..Shalom

Good question. I'm an American. I think that they resent so much Americanization of their own cultures and countries. But you are right. They will watch our t.v. programs and movies and listen to our music and dress in blue jeans and t-shirts and copy American business practices ... but, yet, they will moan and complain about how we have no culture, class, or intelligence while they embrace everything American. I don't understand this thinking.

EDIT: Oh, I guess the thumbs down mean you don't resent the Americanization of your countries, then, and don't listen to American music or television or wear blue jeans? And I guess you don't say we have no culture and class or intelligence? I guess I was wrong because I got thumbs down on those things. And I guess we don't grow most of the world's food either or work the most hours?

Statistics don't lie, people. Just goes to show how petty you are, giving me a thumbs down because I tell the truth, the same truth people spew on here all the time and are given a thumbs up for. LMAO

Noob, that goes to show you about stereotypes that aren't true. Did you know that Americans work more than any other country besides Japan, hours on the job? Also, Americans are the most productive workers on the globe. Two of your stereotypes dispelled. We are not lazy, but are better employees than most.

And to Ed, we grow most of the worlds food. How can you say we don't know where it comes from and throw things away without consideration to others in the world? U.S. is one of the few countries that could be totally self-sufficient if it had to be. The only thing we lack is oil, but there are other things that could be used if the oil companies would explore it. So, for you to act like we can't do anything is ludicrous. The U.S. practiced a policy of isolationism for years and was very successful at it.

I believe that Canada has all those things you mentioned about America, and there aren't many who don't hate Canada, so there has to be a difference. The American government is much to blame with it's wars, their meddling habits in the business of other countries, and then there are the citizens, who are known to be racist, over reactive and rude.

Maybe because everywhere there's made in u.s. fingers there is lies, moral mud, intere$t$, corporate $elfish lie$, war & blood in name of a fake democratic system, cents of thousands of innocents were killed in Iraq (children, elders, women, working men), Vietnam, Korea, and dozens more wars, causing millions of death innocents.
The power of money attract the POWER of the OPPRESSED.

I know a close one who lost his daughter due to stupid gov. decisions and now his ex (who stabbed him) does not let him even phone his beloved daughter.
He was a very very loving and caring Father.

And many other reasons that make people hate your country.

The list is too big to list here.

The link below is just one of thousands which clarify the truth.

I think that people's view of America began to decline when American schools stopped teaching people how to write clear, grammatical English.
