Your sense of smell is very increased in pregnancy. You may be able to smell things when others can't.
I would have the house checked for mold. Sounds like something it could be and can be very dangerous for you and her being pregnant and ecspecially the babies.

Yep im the same, i can bearly feed my poor cats in the morning lol. Your senses just become very sensitive when it comes to smells. If anything in my house smells even a little it is very strong to me and my partner laughs at me cause he can t smell anything.
Try washing you clothes with a little bit of disinfectant in the wash and that way you will only be able to smell the disinfectant thats what i did lol and now i just make sure everything in my house smells like Pine'O Clean lol It worked!
I wish you and your sister the all the best for your pregnancies congrats!!

It could be your imagination, but I doubt that. Smell is not understood very well. Women are odd when it comes to such things. At least from my point of view. There is so much going on during pregnancy that you may not be interpreting your senses correctly. You could smell something and think it is something else. Moods influence that as do illnesses. You won't get used to it, but you will re-learn how to smell. You'll have to re-learn again after the pregnancy. Maybe not. Just a guess. I've had to re-learn when something changed my senses. It wasn't pregnancy. Good luck!

I know that when I was pregnant I found certain smells nauseating - even when other people weren't able to smell them.
Here is a link to a site which discusses a heightened sense of smell during pregnancy...

As for the smell - it is there - so you should check the ventilation of your house, maybe use damp traps (commercial product that draws moisture out of the air) and have the windows open as often as possible. One of my Gran's books recommend slicing a few lemons and placing them in a bucket of warm water to get rid of the damp smell.
Hope this helps,

Your sense of smell may be increased. Your washing machine may be musty. Try cleaning it out, running laundry detergent, bleach and hot water with no clothes or just vinegar if you don't use bleach and that might help the clothes.

Lol. Your sense of smell is definately hightened during pregnancy. I would bring in someone who isn't pregnant and ask them if they could smell it. It's probably a pregnancy thing...

My sense of smell is much more sensitive when I am preggo and I drive dh crazy! It's quite possible that the smell is there but noone else is smelling it because their sniffers aren't as sensitive as yours and your sister's.
It has to be so cool to be preggo with your sister!

Your sense of smell sometimes becomes more sensitive during pregnancy. I couldn't tolerate the smell of bread until I delivered my daughter.

Typical pregnancy thing. Your smell becomes so much stronger often, so you can smell things others aren't even aware off.
