I remember a time when I would say whatever that was on my mind. Until 6th grade when I felt that everyone hated me because of the peers in my class. I slowly became more in confident because of this girl who would tease me, and my friend for no reason. I blamed her for awhile for making me self-conscious to just be me. Now that I’m a freshman in college I can feel my self change, and everyday I try to open up just a little. I realized now in time that no one can change me just because they feel that their better.

Now that same girl who was so mean never changed. I can look at her and feel confident that I am doing something in my life, while she is stuck on drugs and is still mean to everyone that she knows who is doing better then she is.

Just someone can make you feel so small doesn’t mean you should hide. Because in the long run you will stay small if you hide. But if you try to be confident then you will grow larger then them and they will be smaller.

i agree, sometimes it helps to see someone who has hurt you doing less well then you
but that is a momentary thing, the main thing to learn, that will stay with you threw life and help you mature, is to learn
you dont build yourself up by putting others down,
you can feel great, without a need to feel better then or less then someone else
it really does come down or back to yourself, and we tend to be hard on our own selfs, but if you are trying, and making progress, doing better within yourself then you did last year, etc, it will all work out
i do hear what you are saying, right or wrong, some who put me down, without ever even knowing what i had gone threw, was going threw, are now less happy then me, and doing worse, and i am happy about that, sad to say,

More of a statement than a question, but point taken. Now, what about when parent's verbal abuse hinders you similarly, only, it keeps with you after school and into your adult life to the point where you have no friends or romance and are a ticking time-bomb?

people who make fun of others and make them feel small only do that as a way to deal with their own issues and self consiousness so never let them get you
