In all fairness to these famous people... Some of them actually do write their own books. And yes, some of them use ghostwriters like me. I ghost for a very major sports personality. But I must tell you that it does take up a great deal of their time. The person I ghost for spends a tremendous amount of time working with me. I just got off the phone with them, in fact. They do put in a lot of time on their books and at least in my personal experience, they are involved in all phases of production. I am a second generation ghostwriter. My uncle ghosted for a few football players - writing their autobiographies. He wrote non-fiction books on the military himself in his own name. I write novels as myself. Actually, you would be surprised at how much time celebs have on their hands.

The really wonderful part is that in many cases, the books they write raise tons of money for charities they run. In my case, the proceeds go completely to charity. So, even though my name isn't actually on them, I know they are doing a lot of good for a lot of people. In a way, I do get a lot of credit for it. I am working with an editor at a top 5 NY publisher and I get a lot of gratification knowing my work is raising thousands and thousands to help kids.

And, just so you know, Ghostwriters get Halloween off. It is a paid holiday for us. Pax - C

Ghost writing is one thing. But some people do get a lot of time. Most Indian freedom fighters like Jawaharlal Nehru, MK Gandhi, wrote book when in jail. it may sound strange but is true. There books are really very famous and they were written in jail.

Real authors do the writing. The celebrities just sit down with the author and answers some questions then the writer does all the work.

all the real writers MAKE time to write, if youre really enthusiastic about writing, then you would make a schedule, for example:
11:00am: write at least 2 pages
12:00pm: lunch with lucy
1:00pm: free time
2:00pm: interveiw with channel 7
4:00pm: write at least 2 pages....
i think ghost writing is pretty stupid because if you like to write, then you dont get much of a chance.
i like writing, and i always make sure i have time. and if an author is busy at the scheduled writing time, they would, or if not should, make up for the lost time.

They hire 'ghost writers,' that is, hire writers to write the books for them without getting credit for it.

Most use ghostwriters. Their name only help sell the books.

most of the time, if they're celeb personnel, they use ghostwriters.

but some do write themselves. In fairness, it's not their fault they're so busy-they can hardly help it!

Will you please stop using the term "writer"-everyone writes
