Much of what most of us do is already not much different from legalized prostitution, it just involves less sex.

A sane society probably should have legal accomodation for prostitutes in some places. They should be paid very well.

American history has more than one example of organized prostitution handled fairly humanely.
Two come to mind at the moment.

1. The U. S. army. (Not now, but decades ago.)

2. Nevada.

Wouldn't work....too many problems. Almost same as legalizing marijuana except that would be less dangerous. I've never heard of someone catching an STD from a joint. I dont even smoke, but I do like to poke. I just dont think that paying, advertising, and keeping girls in debt to legal pimps is a very good idea. Although you could look at it the same way I see legalizing "pot". RESTRICTIONS! Checks on legal and illegal prostitution rings, same as legal growers and illegal growers. I know it sounds like it might be fun, but there would be a lot of manpower, babbling in Congress, and not to mention right wingers bombing whore houses left and right in God's name.... the truth for me is....It just aint worth the pain, suffering, and hummiliation a woman goes thru while being a prostitute. And who wants to tell there daughter: "Why be a doctor when you can make the same money *******."

On another hand, when you take a girl out for dinner and you pay....you are in a sense paying her. So in one way any woman who ends up having sexy time due to gifts, food, etc. is essentially a ho. j/k

Two only.

#1. Look at the low rape and sexual assault figures in countries that regulate legal prostitution.

#2 The countries that I know of ( Holland & Germany ) there maybe more, they are pretty much the most laid back countries that I know of for the past 25 to 30 years.

Just something to think about ...

Legalize it and tax it.

It happens anyway. Might as well regulate it to keep it safe. Doing so could cut the violent pimp out of the loop.

We already have legalized prostitution. It's called marriage.

Thumbs up. Vote yes for it. It promotes an open, healthy attitude about sex and prevents crime. No pimps, no beatings, and the women that do it are there voluntarily. It's good all around.

I dont have a problem with it. It's going to happen anyway, we might as well regulate and tax it (like we do with casinos).
