Most people don't even have sex after they've been married for awhile.

I am not married but I would say probably still a lot of couples. If you are not ready for kids or are taking a break some women dont want to be going back and forth with being on and off the pill. If they have one child and plan on having more, they might be using condoms in between having kids!!

As many as don't want their wives to get pregnant and prefer to use that method. Just because you get married doesn't mean you want to have kids and doesn't change how you would prevent them.

Condoms have several advantages; you can always use them as a form of birth control if you're not using anything else; they require no preparation by the woman; they're easy to get, not difficult to use, and inexpensive. Also, if one has problems with maintaining an erection, the pressure of the condom might help.

The only drawbacks are reduced sensitivity, possibility of breakage and they can fail if exposed to oil-based lubricants (baby oil and Vaseline).

All other methods (foam, film, diaphragm, female condom) require the woman to prepare first. Birth Control pills require she take a chemical which will change the way her system works, and do so for several months before it's fully effective.

And if they might want to have children (or more children) later - but not now - then him having a vasectomy is out.

We hated condoms. So much that I had a tubal done with the birth of my last child so that worrying about condoms and birth control would never again be an issue, and it's Great!

hehmommy04, I agree it's probably easier on the men to get the "big V", but getting your tubes tied is not "major surgery." They do it laproscopically, I had mine done on a Friday, went home the same day, and was back at work on Monday. They gave me pain pills, but I didn't even need them.

To answer the question, when I was married, we did use them because I could not take the pill or anything like it with hormones, so he used a condom.

You wont ever really know. This kind of reminds me of third grade math, all subsets are not part of a set. All married men are not reading this post, the married men that are reading this post have computers, many men on the computer are looking for porn or other women or other men. So even if the answering group was a small sample of your intended target you didn't finish the question - do they wear condoms with their wives, other female partners, or other male partners, just to keep their penis warm?

Many married men wear condoms even in committed relationships as they are not ready to have children but are not at a point where they want to take surgical or prescription steps to prevent pregnancy.

Not mine- He got the Big V shortly after our daughter was born- woo hoo. No more worries.

Ok husbands that are thru having kids step up and do the responsible thing and get fixed. It is so much easier on the guy than the woman to have it down. For us it is major surgery and for them it is minor. Don't be chickens.

As a married woman w/ 2 kids- I used them - neither of us wanted to get our tubes tied- plus those methods are only 98-99% - I know at least 3 married women who still got pregnant and their tubes were clipped and burned- never underestimate GOD Almighty!
