I want to find out how my grandfather's brother was killed in Worl War II. I only know his name, where he was from in The U.S.A. and that he was in Army Air Force. Is there a website that I can use to look up details about exacly how he was killed? Is there a list of obituaries of WWII soldiers?

I've been doing some research today for a fella on your side of the pond and I was assured this is the place to look.
http://www.archives.gov/
I also have a phone number for them its 001 1800 2348861, I don't think you need the first three digits do you, I'm in the UK , the number worked fine for me. You could always try www.ancestry.com , in the UK the wwll information is kept under wraps until 75 years after the official cease fire. I hope this helps.

Depending on whether or not your grandfather's brother was buried overseas, you might want to contact someone at the American Battle Monuments Commission (www.abmc.gov). Or write a letter to the Department of the Army. The address is:

US Total Army Personnel Command (TAPC)
Public Affairs
200 Stovall Ave.
Alexandria, VA 22332

If you write the letter, include as much detail as possible about your grandfather's brother (name, rank, serial number, division, regiment, etc...)

I wrote to them about my great uncle and received a packet of information back including death reports and correspondance between his mother and the Army among other papers.

Good Luck!

They'll only tell you one of three ways

One: he was killed in action K.I.A.
Two: He died of a illness
Or: an accidental death.
