Some idiot ran the curb, and completely busted my mailbox. I wish I knew who did this so I could sue their ***. I am pretty sure it was the contractor working for my HOA who have been planting trees. I have already emailed and called my HOA. They are "reviewing" the damages.

The pictures are here: http://www.shahyan.com/mailbox/

Anyways, how much do you think it will cost to fix the whole thing? My insurance deductible is $500. If it's less than that, my insurance won't cover it. In any case, any help will be much appreciated.

well since its the HOA's man who did the damage, they likely have someone on retainer or available to come out and make things right. I would guess its atleast $300 bucks to get someone out, likely will build all new from the ground up, dont want mismatched bricks and 2 tone mortar. The steel mailbox is atleast $40-50 bucks. I'd say that the full deal will run you real close to $500.00 materials and all.

Check with the HOA and find out who their approved masons are and get an estimate. Also, since the mailbox is between the sidewalk and the curb, is it your responsibility or the HOA's?

So sorry, and I'd be hopping mad too! Unfortunatley it will only cost around $100 to repair. Byee Oh, the mailbox is made by SteelCity ,and the price is $8.99.

If you go to Home Depot and get a new one with a post your going to spend about $110.00 and about three hours putting it in. Check to see in your area, some you cannot cement them in for the county plows.
