CNN did a peice about Bill O'reilly, like him or not it was false. He was telling a story about his grandma fearing black people an it was against racism, in fact the guy on his radio show, an African American was outraged how CNN outright lied. The people from Bill O'rerilly called and told them the real truth and that he wasn't making racists comments, in fact he was talkng about how bad racism is, and CNN still did the story anyways. It was some militant website that actually was the one who gave CNN the story but they still did it even after they found out it wasn't true.

If you're outraged, put aside your feelings for O'reilly, and write cnn, go to cnn.com and go to the contact us link at the bottom., you can also for the www.fcc.gov

I was in journalism courses and this violates ethics and it's not acting in the public interest as journalists are expected to do.

if that guy knows anything about the media they were started to put out information for the public interest, and if they did that they got airtime to show entertainment. They all have bias, but when they know a story is false and still go with it that is wrong.

All of the news media in the U.S. are in it for ratings. They have to capture and hold an audience so they can sell more stuff via the ad spots which were paid for by the advertisers. Even the employees of the news division who do the reporting and anchoring are called "talent" on the business reports of the broadcast outlet. The anchors belong to the same trade union as Jay Leno, David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel: the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
I hope your journalism courses taught you the first rule of good reporting. It's fallen into disuse over the years: "If your mother says she loves you, check it out!".
I've been a devoted listener to English language shortwave radio since 1949. That's where you really get news.

cnn is a leader in rating and does not report the truth - only what they feel is truth.
