I am 28 weeks along. I have lost 33 lbs. I am eating and I am not dieting. Has this happened to anyone else? My doctor seems to be getting frustrated with me but I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

as long as the baby is fine,i wouldnt worry. with my third pregnancy,(i was overweight to begin with)lost almost 50 pounds. i was careful about what i ate though.that didnt mean i was dieting either.docs were very concerned that they did an ultrasound once a month.baby was perfectly fine! i was losing the excess weight i had and the baby was gaining. in the end,i gave birth to an 11pound baby boy! another reason i believe i lost so much weight is because i had bad nausea all nine months all day long. meds i was given to ease it off NEVER worked, but like i said baby was fine and very healthy. you are in the beggining of your third trimester, and this is when docs say you should really be putting on some weight.in fact,i think its somewhere between 9-12 pounds that you will put on due to the babys growth spurt.this is the time when baby is developing most of its fatty tissue under its skin, which means baby is putting on its final pounds before birth! good luck and congrats on your lil one.

I'm only 16 weeks, but yes, ditto that. My doctor told me it was okay to stay at the same weight and not gain any, but not to lose any either.

However, I've been eating, perhaps a little healthier maybe, but eating all the same, and I've lost about 15 lbs so far.

As long as the baby is okay and you are in fact eating, there's no reason for him to be too upset. If he's really that worried, ask him to refer you to a dietitian.

if you were overweight going into the pregnancy your body may be using up your natural fat stores. Is the baby growing normally? If so, don;t stress. I lost over 30 lbs in my first pregnancy, i did not start to regain until I was 25 or so weeks. My son was fine, almost 8lbs at birth.
